What b57 won't tell you is that the term "eternity past" has no meaning. In the manner in which he intends it here to be understood, it is a contradiction. To the Calvinist, "eternity" has nothing to do with time whatsoever and as such the use of the word "past", which has no meaning at all outside of time, is a contradiction to their concept of eternity. Now in Eternity Past, Christ the Foundation Stone was laid in the Eternal Counsels of the Everlasting Covenant, Where he was the Designated Surety Lamb Shepherd for the Sheep. At this Unknown Time the Triune Jehovah determined that the Zion of God, the Church, comprised of Chosen men and women of every tribe, nation, and tongue, should be Eternally Redeemed by the Person and Work, of the Chief Cornerstone, Christ Jesus the Lord ! These things should be included in the Gospel of Christ !
This same type of open contradiction is common place throughout the Calvinist religion (which is not biblical Christianity, by the way). It seems that they can hardly open their mouths without uttering something contradictory or otherwise bereft of any definable meaning. All of which, every meaningless drop of the slimy, oozing, uncongealed stupidity of it, is all conjured out of the vapid nothingness that is the Calvinist mind in order to preserve one single solitary doctrinal belief. A doctrine that they DID NOT learn from the bible nor from anything real or rational but from the ancient Greeks who believed that their god could not change in anyway whatsoever - the doctrine of immutability.
