The USA would be hailed as heroic across the board for launching a nuclear strike on Mecca. Celebratory parades would be held all over Western Europe and no hint of dissenting attitudes would even make the headlines.

That was just a hypothetical. It seems like many people here honestly believe that the good ol' US of A can take on and beat anything and everything that could ever be thrown at it, and obviously that isn't the case. We DEPEND on imports just like anyone else
