How about people who don't wish to participate just stand quietly by with their traps shut?

Why again do you use the word "liberty" in your username rather than *privilege*?

Those who are willing to suppress the free speech of others should just move to a country where freedom of speech and religion are not allowed.

How about we cut out the pledge of allegiance instead?

Separation of church and state in the modern version is stupid and prayers to the true God should always be encouraged. Prayer to false gods shouldn't be allowed on public property.

Separation of church and state is wise. We're a secular state. There is no state religion, so rather than wrangle over who's going to do the praying, how bout they just stick to government business.

That would be best and appropriate. This is civic business, not Sunday school.

Direct result of Muslim immigration.

Ironically, Islam is the religion of Satan, prophesied in Revelation.
Every generation links Revelation with a different cast of characters - and every time they are proven wrong!

You would think that after 2000 years people like "Nazaroo" would have learned their lesson!

"On Monday, commission chairman Carrol Mitchem, who had previously announced he wouldn’t “bow to minorities” and that he “ain’t gonna have no new religion or pray to Allah” at board meetings, held true to his word and walked out on the first person to address the North Carolina government meeting with a Muslim prayer, the Lincoln Times-News reports."

I guess he should get a little credit for that. :plain:

They're not interested in a seat at the table, they want the only seat.
Who wants the only seat. It a not a seat anyway. Islam and Christianity worship the same God. They just do it in different ways. They don't really get that Jesus was the son of God. It doesn't pertain to them. They still worship the father, creator, the one God. Why does everyone have to be so bent on division of Faith in God? That isn't how it is supposed to be according to the Bible, and the Qur'an.
2¢ thanks. No offense.

Most Christians will dispute that Christians and Muslims worship the same God... and I agree.

Islam seems to have elevated Baal as their one true god... it has very different characteristics from the Jewish/Christian God.

This is being cited around the internet as a very good example of Christian privilege in government.

Previously town councils like this one would only open with Christian prayers. No one from any other religion was ever invited to give their own prayer. But then a court ruling mandated that the government can't play favorites like that, and if they're going to open with a prayer, they have to open that up to people from other faiths.

And after the very first time a non-Christian gave a non-Christian opening prayer, the council immediately voted to end the practice of opening prayers altogether. So basically they said, "If it can't be Christians only, then we're not doing it at all".

A perfect example of Christian privilege.
Yep, a textbook example, in fact, THEE example at that.

The same thing occurred with gun rights in the 60s. Apparently the 4th Amendment only applies to white American citizens. The first time restricted gun laws were introduced was when members of The Black Panthers LEGALLY open carried in California. Well, we couldn't have that, scaring the good white citizens now can we? Well the Governor of the state quickly worked to get some gun laws enacted to stop that practice. That Governor was none other than Saint Reagan

Yep, Google it and weep.

In this country, if some people can't have their way, then NOBODY can have it. An attitude and philosophy that defines the Republican party to a tee.

Can you briefly explain the link of Islam and Baal?

The Black Panthers weren't acting all that smart... maybe Reagan was trying to protect them from their own stupidity?

Face it, if the Black Panthers started a war against the whites, it would be over quite quickly.

Wow someone never read the Quran. They worship God, the one all encompassing Creator. You know God the one God the same God Christians and Jews worship. The same merciful compassionate giving God. Don't believe everything you hear from biased sources.

:plain: I've been saying this for years....Most of the issues Conservatives have heart-burn with nowadays are because the laws which were passed to keep others "in-line" are now being applied equally.

Sorry, but they don't.

Jesus was not just a prophet.

They don't consider him just a profit. They consider him the perfect messenger. They don't see him as more because he is for the Gentiles, not the ones of law. Thanks.

Jesus spoke to and ministered to the Jews.. not the Gentiles.

Jesus was/is the son of/is God.

If you do not understand the difference between their god and the God of Christians, you should study more.

I understand the differences made by man's corruption and greed. If you don't understand that man is both good and evil, and that man wrote all ancient texts then maybe you should study more. Thanks.
Are you saying that because Jesus taught in the lands of th middle east that his teachings do not pertain to Gentiles? Have you even read the bible if this is your belief. Talk about lack of comprehension. If you can read but not comprehend then the congregations may be the best place for you to learn. I bet they'll talk about love, patience, understanding, and forgiveness as opposed to division and hatred. Only if they comprehend scripture at all though. Thanks.

1.) Man is not good and evil.. man is just plain evil. Anything good that happens through man is through direct intervention from God.

2.) The Ancient texts of the bible were INSPIRED by God through men... and they are 99.99% accurate and have not been corrupted.

3.) No, Jesus' teaching do not apply to the gentiles... Jesus' teachings were as a Rabbi teaching the Jews about the Mosaic Law and how they had forgotten what it was all about.

4.) The New Testament tells us to stay away from false teachers and stay separate from the Non-Christians if possible.

So no, it it is you that needs to study more.
