Myself and Welfare

I do not view myself to be on welfare. What is welfare and am I associated with it? How do I know? As well, is there anything wrong with welfare?

May I suggest a course in remedial English.
I do not know what you mean by that. I will try to look up a definition in the absence of one being provided. You did not address what I did not understand. That is, are the needs of the poor provided for, or is this not about the poor? Meaning with welfare. This is the opposite of what you said. Are you thinking that meager means are not so meager? Or, are you saying that welfare goes against if you don't work then you don't eat? You are not explaining yourself. I looked up the remedial English reference and I do not believe that it applies to me. I honestly don't know what welfare is and I don't believe I am on it. I believe that if I were to ask it might be possible to be on it, but I do not know what changes would occur.

Does anyone want to help me with this? Thank you.

Are you claiming any benefits at present? Are you working and also claiming some sort of benefit that you're entitled to? Without specifics it's a bit hard to help. There's nothing wrong with being on them but I'm not sure what your position is here.

I may have a Social Security income. I do not know what benefits you might be speaking of.

Well, without wishing to be blunt, you should know if you're on any sort of benefits or not.
Maybe Social Security has benefits. I do not know. I do not know if I am receiving some kind of assistance or just my Social Security and if that counts.

Well, if you're out of work and looking for work then the chances are that you are on some sort of benefit. Social security is a form of benefit anyway so are you getting regular payments?

I am looking for work.

Godspeed- it's not an easy market regardless of all the hubris you hear about Trump.
Aim high; don't settle for a small position if another is open you think you can maybe do. Learned that a little while back :thumb:

Fact : There are many people in America who through no fault of their own, are unable to earn a living . People who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own and are struggling to find another job . People with spouses and children who have to feed and house them .
People who are too disabled to work or too ill , offering from diseases and disorders of various kinds.. People who are to mentally ill to work and must be confined to mental institutions . And other adverse circumstances .
Conservative myth : There ate millions of lazy bums in America who are too lazy to work and support themselves and want the government to support them generously while it takes hard-earned money from honest people who do work . False.
The taxes we pay contribute to the essential social safety net for those down on their luck , among other things . Anyone can be struck down by misfortune . Without the taxes you pay , YOU could be starving and dying on the streets if setting happens to you . And your family .
Trump is planning to make drastic cuts in government funding for people down on their luck , all so he can give the richest Americans bigger tax cuts . This isn't capitalism . It's barbarism .
We already have many homeless people who are NOT lazy and stupid .
A strong and secure safety net is not "socialism ". It's good government .

Interesting. I do not say these things. Except that people need to feed their families. I have myself to begin with.

Well yes, it's a form of benefit for people who are out of work. At least it is where I live. Are you getting payments made to you even though you're not working?
