god's ideal in the old testament was murdering anyone (including children) for expressing different beliefs (deuteronomy chapter 13). I don't really care about god's ideal. Feel free to care, or even hypocritically care by not caring that god's ideal in the old testament was murdering anyone who openly disagreed. What you don't get to do is enforce your religion on others.

I think churches should put deuteronomy chapter 13 on their billboards and focus on it as much as they do hating gay people. It'd be fun to watch the reaction.
