Rom 7:25 NKJV - [25] I thank God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

Rom 7:20 NKJV - [20] Now if I do what I will not [to do], it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

Was Paul justifying his sin?

No.

He was simply explaining how the flesh cannot submit to the law. Under the law the flesh is a body of death, but the conclusion to Romans 7 is to get out from under the law, not to indulge the flesh with peace of mind.

You, like the mads, appear to be saying that we are living in the dispensation of carnality with a clear conscience.

What? :plain:

Rom 7:14 KJV - For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 KJV - For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:16 KJV - If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom 7:17 KJV - Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 KJV - For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 KJV - For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20 KJV - Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21 KJV - I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 KJV - For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 KJV - But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 KJV - O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25 KJV - I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Rom 8:1 KJV - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 KJV - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 KJV - For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 KJV - That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:5 KJV - For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6 KJV - For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Rom 8:7 KJV - Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Rom 8:8 KJV - So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

I have highlighted the important parts. Jesus Christ saved us from our sinful flesh, not made it better. Stop with the carnality and stop even thinking about sin -- It's over, its paid for.

Fruits of the Spirit are of the mind, as our flesh can do no good.

"Walking not after the flesh" does not mean abstinence from sin and desires, but rather to avoid what you do exactly, andy -- Focusing on what the flesh is doing. As you can see, Through Christ we are delivered from our sinful bodies, and in Christ, sinless.

Focus on the Spirit, and not the flesh, because "they that are in the flesh cannot please God."

2 Cor 5:21 KJV - For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

It's done.
Payed for.
We are Righteous.

End of story.

Rom 6:14 (KJV)

We all commit acts of sin in our flesh, but we should not let sin have dominion over us. Andy is obsessed with his flesh, it has dominion over his thinking, because he has not reckoned it as dead. Rom 6:11 (KJV)

One who is walking in the Spirit is preoccupied with the fact that "there is therefore NOW no condemnation...."

Praise Him for His marvelous grace!

No problem with this. What makes you think that I focus on sin?
Sin is still sin even though there is no condemnation.

:nono: You cannot conclude Romans 7, as it is not a complete thought and it runs into Romans 8, You bible chopper. Who is wrongly dividing the word of Truth now?

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Where I agree with you and the mads is that we shouldn't be focussing on sin. The more you focus on sin, the more you'll be drawn to it.
Jimmy Swaggart used to focus a lot of attention preaching against the sin of adultery, and later he himself committed adultery. People who focus a lot on sin usually do so because they do not want to accept they are dealing with temptation instead of simply focussing on who the are in Christ. You cannot be tempted by what you don't think about.
I believe that God never imputes sin to us, so there can never be condemnation. If I went out and committed adultery tonight, it wouldn't make the slightest difference to who I am in Christ, but at the same time I would feel ashamed for doing what I know is wrong.
As Christians we should never try to remove the shame as a result of sin, otherwise we will be seen to be justifying what we know is wrong.
