have you heard that words have meaning?
so why would you say destroy when you really don't mean destroy?
Who said destroy was not meant?

Destroy does not always mean to end it all without any life.
we are talking about life of body and soul here
destroy means destroy
The scripture says man cannot kill the body with the spirit.
Since man cannot kill it, how do you think it dies after the death of the body?
The souls of the wicked are destroyed by God, who is able to destroy both body and soul in Gehenna. Nobody here is saying that the soul is destroyed by man "who can kill the body but can't destroy the soul".
You do not believe that we have spirits that live on after the death of our bodies. Tell me, since man cannot kill it, how do you think it dies after the death of the body?
The spirit is not the soul.
Soul means life.
Christ returns to raise the dead to life.
None are alive when they are dead.
To say they are alive is to say Christ did not die, as all spiritualism teaches.

Answer the question.

The body becomes a soul by the spirit.
It makes no difference whether the spirit dies or not, for if one is dead then they are dead.
The life of all flesh originally came from God but that does not mean the human spirit retains its form or consciousness of a living person when they are dead.
The only exception could be Jesus but if that was so then Jesus remains a natural person, which he does not.
1Co 2:11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him?
Jesus knew what was in man because He was one of them, and it was the things of man in His human spirit which He had overcome and laid down, through many tears and prayers before He was baptized by John.
When Jesus died, He fully died and was afterward fully resurrected.

Yes God is able to destroy the soul, but never makes the claim that He will. In fact it is the opposite; He claims love and salvation for the world. You need to stop equating what Jesus claims that God is capable of with what He has declaired will happen. Read 1 Timothy 2:4-6...
