A Top US General Now Calls ISIS By The Name They Hate:

"Daesh"

Terry said he had began to use the term Daesh instead of ISIS at the request of Middle Eastern partners in the anti-ISIS coalition who wished to draw a sharp line between the group and Islam.

Terry's decision to call the group Daesh follows a general trend towards addressing ISIS by the name that the groups views as highly pejorative. Within the past few weeks Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot has taken to calling the group by Daesh, as has US Secretary of State John Kerry.

“Daesh hates being referred to by this term, and what they don’t like has an instinctive *appeal to me,” Abbott said.

Sounds good to me :idunno:

Likewise, according to The Guardian's Ian Black, the Daesh acronym "entered the ever-adaptive Arabic language big time: in the plural form – 'daw’aish' – it means bigots who impose their views on others."

As could be expected, ISIS has responded to the use of Daesh in its territories in predictably brutal methods. The militants' leaders have threatened "to cut out the tongues" of anyone caught using the term Daesh.

Connecticut Teen Who Refused Chemo Now in 'Remission,' Seeks Freedom

17-year-old girl who initially refused treatment for a highly curable cancer is now in remission and is seeking release from state custody to finish her last two months of chemotherapy at home, the teen and her lawyer said Monday.

Cassandra was ordered into temporary state custody in January by the Connecticut Supreme Court. State justices ruled she was legally too immature to make her own medical conditions. They ordered her to continue chemo at a Hartford hospital where those treatments began in November. She was diagnosed in September.

Should the government have the right to force medical care?

Judge won't allow Connecticut teen to return home as she nears end of forced chemo

A Connecticut teen who has been forced to have chemotherapy to treat Hodgkin lymphoma will remain in temporary custody of the state for the time being, according to her attorney, Josh Michtom.

A Connecticut juvenile court judge issued a written decision Wednesday denying a motion to let the teen, identified in court documents as "Cassandra C.," go home. The judge also denied a motion for visitation.

The 17-year-old is in remission after nearly six months of forced chemo treatments. On March 16, Michtom tried to convince the court that she should be able to return to her mother's home because she was no longer in imminent risk of harm from her illness.

Michtom and attorney Michael Taylor, who represents Cassandra's mother, Jackie Fortin, released a written statement after receiving the judge's decision Wednesday: "We are disappointed in this ruling, not least of all because it draws a factual conclusion that is directly contradicted by the weight of the evidence. We're conferring with our clients now about next steps, including whether to take another appeal."

Her family is not allowed to visit her? What is the flight-risk in that? :idunno:

Cabbie Ordered to Pay $15,000 After Telling Women to Quit Kissing or Get Out

link

When Christina Spitzer gave her girlfriend a kiss in the backseat of a cab, she wasn’t expecting the driver to demand the couple knock it off or leave.

“Keep that for the bedroom or get out of the cab,” New York City taxi driver Mohammed Dahbi told Spitzer and her girlfriend, Kassie Thorton.

Dahbi doesn’t think he did anything wrong. Dahbi’s lawyer, Ali Najmi, claims that the driver often told heterosexual couples to quit fooling around in his cab because they were distracting him from driving. “My client never once mentioned anything about their sexuality and never threw them out of the taxi,” Najmi told the New York Post.

The women exited the cab after Dahbi’s comment and refused to pay the fare, after which he drove away hurling expletives at them.

Upset over how they were treated, the women contacted the Commission on Human Rights, which filed a complaint with New York City’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings. Dahbi’s rebuttal response puts the blame on Spitzer and Thorton. He alleged the women made offensive comments about his ethnicity, and that they practically disrobed during the drive.

If a man and wife were told to stop kissing in the back of a cab, could they sue?

No, and neither would they. Some people are offended at that level of display of emotions in front of them.

But it seems the gays are now societies police on what others should deem ok.

"Upset over how they were treated..."

this is all that matters

wouldn't it be wonderful if the Office of AT&H told them to stop being whiny little complainers and get over it?

but no - knowing nyc's love of regulations, they'll prolly make cabbies take sensitivity training or post signs in their cabs detailing acceptable behavior

Montana man seeks license for second wife

A Montana man said Wednesday that he was inspired by last week's U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage to apply for a marriage license so that he can legally wed his second wife.

"It's about marriage equality," Collier told The Associated Press Wednesday. "You can't have this without polygamy."

County clerk officials initially denied Collier's application, then said they would consult with the county attorney before giving him a final answer, Collier said.

I suppose it's inevitable...

Does anyone support same-sex marriage but oppose polygamy?

Geepers! I believe God set a standard when He created "a man and a woman" to become one flesh.
And for those who don't care about God, Mother Nature set the same standard.
There are all kinds of shenanigans up to which we may get. Where do they lead us?

Professional Imbecile George Zimmerman Retweets Graphic Photo of Trayvon Martin's Dead Body

...Zimmerman's most recent act of Zimmer******** is most likely his most appalling contribution to society yet. Though the tweet has now been deleted by Twitter officials, Zimmerman reportedly retweeted the following proclamation that he is a "one man army," an incendiary statement maddeningly paired with a gruesome photo of Trayvon Martin's corpse.

Perhaps vaccines should not be mandatory...
Lehigh Valley woman paralyzed by flu vaccine receives $11.6 million settlement

Sarah Behie received her shot in 2010 as a requirement for work, and a week later began displaying flu-like symptoms. A couple weeks later, she experienced pain and weakness in her limbs and was eventually diagnosed with Guillian-Barre Syndrome, a neurological condition that can be a rare side effect of the flu vaccine. There is no cure, but rehabilitation programs can help patients eventually recover from even the most severe cases, according to the National Institute of Health.
