I think you're reading in way too much. There wasn't a shift in voting. It's simpler. He galvanized his base. She didn't to the extent of her predecessor and that thin distinction cost her the EC, if not the popular vote. Educated women and blacks simply didn't turn out for her in the numbers they did for Obama. It wasn't a huge difference, but it was enough.

She lost her primary here while Trump won his. Looks like the Berniebots just couldn't get over it since wikileaks showed that the DNC was in the tank for Hills. If they had run Bernie we would be having a very different conversation.

If Trump is successful he'll have the edge a successful president enjoys. If he isn't, the Dems won't be nominating as divisive a figure to run against him next time out...it's literally not possible.

They could try Caitlyn Jenner, but she's a Republican I believe. Perhaps another surgery could change that?

Keep Gavin Newson in mind. He's a rising Democratic star here in California. He's likely running for California governor in 2018 so he may be more of a 2024 presidental candidate. And he's VERY liberal.
