I hope you aren't suggesting that not hearing the Gospel preached leaves one without access to salvation.

Right - so what are you trying to say? Your original comment regarding the Mayans implied that you thought some were without hope.

Sufficient to condemn is the light given to man in creation, not sufficient to save .

Let me try and explain what Paul teaches here.

God has a universal principle that anyone seeking God will be given light to believe.

For the barbarian he has the ability to recognize God's existence thru the light God reveals in creation.

If the savage responds to the light given in creation (by burning his idols) God will give him more light by stirring up mr. Jones from London who has never heard of the place the native is at but gets a burden from God to go there and evangelize.

Eventually Jones shows up at this naked native's hut and shares the gospel and he gets saved.

That's it.

Those used in my example are an example of a people where no one responded to the light given thru creation and died unsaved. This they had hope but rejected it for devil worship.

Interesting but did anyone - did a person preach to Abraham?
What does Acts 7:51 mean to you?

What's your stance on TULIP?.

T total depravity does not mean that all men are as bad as they can be, rather that sin has touched every part of man. That means that if left to himself man cannot and will not seek God.

U unlimited atonement means that the work of the cross rendered all men savable.

I irresistible grace means that those whom God calls can not reject the call. There is a general call to faith given to all men but there is also an effectual call upon those whom God has predestined to life eternal.

P perseverance of God. It is due to God's faithfulness and not man's perseverance that none can be lost once they have been saved.

Limited atonement is not supported by scripture.

Perseverance of the saints violates the principle of justification by grace alone thru faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing.

Thx for asking

Interesting but did anyone - did a person preach to Abraham? QUOTE]

Abraham had access to the written documents that Moses used to edit the book of Genesis.

Abraham heard the voice of God.

No one hears God's audible voice today.

No one hears God's audible voice today.

John 12:27-30
“Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!”

Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.

Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine.

So this barbarian is burning his idols for what reason? You clearly don't consider that he is seeking God.

So Acts 7:51 means what?

Let's look at the context.
The speaker just brought the historical work of God from the patriarchal phase to the mediator phase to the monarchical phase of God's kingdom and then the sending out of the prophets to the idolatrous kings and priests of Israel before goin into Babylon.

The leaders of Israel ignored Jeremiah and Hosea and listened to the false prophets of their days revolting against Babylon instead of submitting to Nebacadnezzar, they rejected the Holy Spirit working thru these prophets.

Now, the leaders of Pharisaic Judaism are equally guilty of rejecting the Holy Spirit in Yeshua in Mt12.

“Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? and they killed them that showed before of the coming of the Righteous One; of whom ye have now become betrayers and murderers; ye who received the law as it was ordained by angels, and kept it not.”
**Acts‬ *7:51-53‬ *ASV‬‬

Am I missing something here? Or is this an accurate observation of the text?

The um naked native is throwing away his tribes idols because he cannot believe that these images made of wood/stone are living gods. In doing this very act God responds by giving him more light and he becomes a civil savage.

God reacts to a 'good work' but, even so, since you believe in the doctrine of total depravity then no one is actually doing anything good?

Isn't the truth, rather, that all men are worked on by the Holy Spirit?
