Government shutdown

He merely reneged on the compromise they made. Ironically, the democrats ended up getting their vote on DACA (unless McConnell lied to them and reneges on his pledge) and they also got CHIP restored, which wasn't in the original agreement.

And best of all, Trump didn't get money for his wall; the original agreement would have put some funding forward for it.
Once again, your "sources" are wrong. Check again, Wall money is guaranteed. CHIP was included by Republicans. The dismal dems failed miserably, accept it. It's a recurring theme.

The republicans did not vote to shut down the government, the democrats did that.

Obama created DACA by royal decree, it never was authorized by congress.
Trump told congress to do their job and write the laws to handle DACA.
The democrats responded by shutting down the government.
Throw the bums out.

The polls show that over 80% of the American public favour the Democratic position on DACA - but the Republicans, in their infinite wisdom, have allowed a minority of "hardliners" to hijack the Party's agenda.

Deporting 800 000 "Dreamers" being broadcast of every news outlet in the nation 24/7, especially during an election year, would be political "suicide" - just because there's one in the White House doesn't excuse the rest of the GOP from being "MORONS!"

Nope. Trump and the republicans said they'd shut down the government if he didn't get the money:
Trump says he'll 'close down' federal government to get border wall money from Congress
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...t-to-get-border-wall-money-from-congress.html

But it's not in the deal that just passed. And the democrats got CHIP renewed.

Congress agrees $1 trillion budget deal – but no money for border wall
No money will be allocated for Trump’s pet project of a border wall with Mexico after he bowed to Democratic resistance to the plan. However, the deal will allocate an additional $1.5bn for border security, which one congressional aide described as “the most robust border security increase in roughly a decade”, and there was no language in the bill preventing Mexico from paying for the wall if it so desired.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...lion-budget-deal-but-no-money-for-border-wall

So, Trump can have his wall, but he'll have to get the money from Mexico. Good luck on that.

Earlier Thursday, the president added more confusion to Congress' scramble to avoid a government shutdown when he appeared to criticize a key Republican addition to a temporary funding bill.

"CHIP should be part of a long term solution, not a 30 Day, or short term, extension!" the president tweeted.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/18/tru...plan-with-chip-childrens-insurance-tweet.html

But he lost on that, too.

Today, Schumer withdrew the "offer" for border wall money. Nothing new there, same old story. We'll see who wins in the end. Chuck's just trying to look strong, saving face.

This is the liberal leadership.

Cryin’ Chuck Schumer fully understands, especially after his humiliating defeat, that if there is no Wall, there is no DACA. We must have safety and security, together with a strong Military, for our great people!

The voting record shows that the Democrat legislators voted to deny funding to the government instead of drafting legislation on DACA.
Right now, DACA depends on an unconstitutional decree by king Obama instead of legislation that has gone through the processes established in the constitution.
If we are doing whatever we want by royal decree, we do not need any of the legislators.

Deporting 800 000 "Dreamers"
If the Democrat legislators drafted legislation through the constitutional processes to provide a way to provide citizenship to the "Dreamers", they would not have to be deported to their countries of origin for being here illegally.

It is the job of congress to provide the laws that will govern the process.
If congress will not do its job, congress needs to be abolished.

"Trump" can gloat all he wants, but he's going to need "Cryin' Chuck" in another 2 weeks to provide enough votes to pass another funding bill to keep the federal government operating!

"Cryin' Chuck" is also getting a lot of "blowback" from the left-wing of the Democratic Party - reaching those 60 votes needed in the Senate just got a lot more difficult 2 weeks from now if there hasn't been substantial progress made on DACA!

So;
20000000000/800000=25000
If we give the DACAs a Buy In at $25,000 per then they can stay and we get the wall!
Do a payment plan, $60 a week for ten years.

If the Dems want to shut down the government to save 800,000 illegals then be my guest.

On its own, the DACA program remains broadly popular, with 84% saying they would like to see it continue, including 72% of Republicans, 82% of independents and a near-unanimous 96% of Democrats. Almost two-thirds (63%) say dealing with the program should be an extremely or very high priority for Congress ...

http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/19/politics/cnn-poll-shutdown-trump-immigration-daca/index.html

- 72% of Republicans

- 82% of independents

- 96% of Democrats

The real question is why are the Republicans, themselves, not taking the lead on resolving DACA, given that it has an 84% national approval rate, including 72% amongst Republicans?

To do nothing and start deporting "Dreamers" after the March deadline is a losing proposition - Republican politicians in Congress know it!

Sounds like you're pretty worried about DACA even though the deadline is in March. You're lucky the Republicans even want to help.

Most Americans don't "feel the love" for criminals that entered our country illegally.

According to a CNN survey poll conducted last week, 84% of Americans want the "Dreamers" to remain, and that includes 72% support from the Republicans!

So to what "majority" is "patrick jane" referring, or is he once again merely walking in "The Donald's" footsteps - spouting "fake news" based on wishful thinking, with no basis in fact?

"Cryin' Chuck" should just sit back, let DACA expire, and force the Republicans, in their infinite wisdom, to dig themselves out of this political hole that they created!

Having the nation watch the arrest, incarceration and deportation of 800 000 "Dreamers" on the news stations 24/7 may win the support of 16% of American voters during an election year - but for the other 84%, not so much!

That's what you want, you don't care about "dreamers" one bit. It's a tool for you and the dismal dems. You want deportations on your TV so you can rant. You and the dems see votes from vulnerable illegal immigrants and blacks, you use people.

They are. DACA is a symptom of a larger problem. No Wall, no DACA.

To do nothing and start deporting "Dreamers" after the March deadline is a losing proposition - Republican politicians in Congress know it!
Shutting down the government so we can treat Illegals better than we treat ourselves is a losing proposition.

Spare me the "crocodile tears!"

Like the rest of Trump's motley crew of the "deplorables," "Patrick jane" has a short attention span - yesterday at 6:10 pm he was labelling the "Dreamers" as criminals for which American's don't "feel the love" but at 4:34 pm today he's lecturing the rest of us about taking advantage of these "vulnerable" people and using them as "tools!"

I suspect that one of the underlying reasons for this display of "outrighteous indignation" is that "patrick jane" is trying to bluff his way out of answering the question as to where he got the idea that "Most Americans don't "feel the love" for criminals that entered our country illegally" - given that the polls show that 84% are sympathetic to DACA!

I know it's hard to put two and two together for you but illegal entry is a crime. So criminals brought children here, also a crime and child endangerment. The cute little adult dreamers were brought here illegally but it wasn't their fault. Like I said, you care as much for the dreamers as you do your President.
