COVID-19 strikes my family again. This time a nephew of mine through marriage (he's the son of my wife's brother) who lives in NYC contracted COVID-19. But, thankfully, he recovered from the virus and is doing well now.

what are they telling him about whether or not he's contagious? or apt to reacquire it?

I really don't know. My wife spoke to him a few days ago. All we know is that he was past the worst part and is now recovering. He was instructed to stay at home for now. His parents own a grocery store in Fresno, CA and they shipped his a huge amount of supplies according to him. Haha.

Another good news day for the US - the new cases count is continuing to decline. Seems like we're past the peak.
