scientists are wrong.
Yep
Since the first Earth Day in 1970, scientists have been wrong 100% of the time.
But that doesn't stop people like you from believing these scientists who have been wrong 100% of the time.

You live in Norway.
Most Norwegians are racist, arrogant, and depressed. They think they live in the best country in the world because they were awarded the best country to live in by people who don't live in Norway.
If I ever have the desire to become depressed, I'll move to Norway.
It must be nice to live in a universe where reality is simply whatever you want it to be.

But I guess your recollection of what the newspapers and popular magazines stated in the 70s trumps NASA.
I am from Okinawa, Japan.
my grandfather's name was Miyagi (my mother's maiden name). My father married her when he was stationed on Okinawa in the Air Force.
Climate change is NORMAL for planet Earth.
Did you know there is a TOL user who is half Okinawan?
His username is Hilston.
Here is one of his posts:
Do you really want me to post all the 100% wrong predictions from scientists since the first Earth Day?
I will post my favorite quote of a scientist from the first Earth Day in 1970:
“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” - Kenneth Watt, Ecologist, Professor Emeritus at the University of California at Davis.
Why do you keep listening to these people?
You're trying to rewrite history.
How's that? By correcting you?
Show me one place I've corrected you that's not true. I've shown you to be saying things that aren't true again and again, and you're telling me I'm trying to rewrite history? You're unreal.
It's ridiculous.
Because the Ice Age never came, you guys are now trying to claim that climatologists weren't saying there was going to be an Ice Age in the 70's. You guys are even going as far as saying that climatologists in the 70's were claiming global warming.
They were. I don't know why you'd pretend they weren't. It's ridiculous. Be honest. You've been shown that plenty of times:
From 1965 to 1979 there were 69 peer reviewed articles about climate change. 7 predicted cooling, 20 were neutral, 42 predicting warming.
I'd post a link, but it's obvious you don't care and wouldn't read it. I mean you haven't so far. Or if you have, you've chosen to ignore it.
Eh, here's one anyway... Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society: The Myth of the 1970's Global Science Consensus
But you and I both know that you're well-aware that "global cooling" was something only a small minority of scientists predicted in the 70's.

A quote is not a peer reviewed scientific paper. Do you know the difference between science and scientists?
Like when a satellite just recently recorded the lowest temperature EVER on planet earth?
Coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth in Antarctica: -94.7C (-135.8F)
Let me guess.......the lowest temperature EVER on planet earth is because of global warming? :bang:
A quote is not a peer reviewed scientific paper. Do you know the difference between science and scientists?
what an insulting question. sheesh.
So, the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine, Newsweek, etc. were all wrong in the 70's?
According to you, all these news outlets had it all wrong about what scientists really believed. Despite article after article about the Ice Age that was looming, the real truth was that scientists believed the exact opposite?
Like I said, you guys are trying to rewrite history. But, that doesn't surprise me, rewriting history is part of being a liberal.
Last I checked, these aren't scientific publications. Also, last I checked, individual scientists are wrong all the time. There are no authorities in science.
Installed in the building for its opening in 1905, the plaque includes an inscription of the word "democrat" following Abraham Lincoln's name. According to building archives, the word democrat was used because Lincoln was an advocate for democracy—the political or social equality of all people. The word was not chosen to reflect a political affiliation.
