In Eeset's case, I think she is holding a grudge and refuses to take responsibility for the infraction she received. She still loves to blame TH.
In Koban's case, he is insecure and unhappy and needs a target to vent at. Also, he is jealous of TH, as well he should be.

Though there are several back and forths that appear reprehensible and out of control - I have to say something here, please.
I think you are right Chrys, I think he should be able to see you for you but I fear he balls people up and thinks they are all the same and out to get him. I wish he could discern that whole thing better but that is what I think.

Mark Furhman said the n word - the prosecution apparently lost a case because he did but then denied it. So let's accept it - Mark did. He said it.
And apparently Paula Dean has said some racial slurs.
As they said on The Five - "it must be pretty bad when you apologize twice and they still fire you." So we can pretty much accept this horrible act happened as well and maybe more than once.

Our own Chrys must have said LMOHM looks gay - or still looks gay -- or something like that.
I'm not happy he did it, no. I wish he would not have done that
but things are said around here that should not be said repeatedly all of the time!

Because I keep hearing about it as if he never said anything before or after!!!

Indeed ... I see positive qualities in Eeset, and am rather disheartened that she has decided to act out in this manner.
What's to understand, Rainee? Chrys was given ample opportunity to explain what he meant and absolutely refused to do so.
IF I were to say something offensive and be called on it, I would respond by:
Looking at my comment to see if what was said in haste and could lead to hurt feelings and miscommunication ... and THEN apologize if that were the case ...
OR
I would stand behind my words for what they were regardless of them being offensive.
IF Chrys sees something wrong with Pete's appearance, he needs to just state it (being that HE brought it up).
Thus far he has been a coward. Those who are making excuses for him are his enablers.
However, he is an adult and obviously the fact that many of us believe his words had malicious intent is acceptable to him. In that case, being called on his hatefulness is to be expected. Since he doesn't care and in fact seems rather proud of actions, why pretend he is a victim?

On the first part, I think he's referencing chrys' history of propping up certain people with rep, the rest references the long-ago rep war.
That's all I can offer, because since he hasn't given me today's mind-control directive, I can't be sure until I check in with the Perception-and-Reassignment-Tracking-Yogi (PARTY) for today's posting instructions. But I'm kind of uncooperative anyway, so I only check in when I feel like it.

Of course you do. But the fact is I began that referenced discourse noting the two were much alike beyond style points. I've criticized chrys any number of times without referencing Sod and the only reason he brings it up is to avoid dealing with the points that meant something.
He followed that by asking for examples when I'd given two.
He never addressed the two. That's chrys all over, literally.
I think everyone would have had he taken responsibility, but he didn't. He dodged and then he left with that on the table. So now and again he's reminded of the fact. Seems fair given his "job" description and all.
Not really. It was a way of illustrating a principle in play with him. He wanted popularity or the appearance of it but his personality gets in the way so he finds a cadre and builds up a number that reflects his desire, but not what he really wants. When he arrives it's hollow and it came out in his snide remarks about popularity and friends, which was a theme/drum of his for a long, long time.
Similarly, he appoints himself a judge and declares what people are in his insult wrapped in gauze award thread. He declares it "his job" because he's not going to be elevated to the position else.
Who knows if you have me on ignore or not today, so you'll see this or you won't/get it or not. But there it is.

Have you heard the story of the farmer and his rope? His neighbor came to borrow his new rope and the farmer was not willing to let him borrow it. So he told the neighbor he would be using the rope so couldn't lend it out. The neighbor in making conversation asked what the farmer was going to be using his rope for and unprepared for that question the farmer said "to rope up milk".
When the neighbor asked what that meant the farmer said "when you need an excuse any excuse will do".
And so it is. Mark Fuhrman denied saying the n word and was condemned nevertheless plus called a liar.
Paula Dean confessed and publicly apologized twice - and she was fired and condemned regardless.
How was Chrys going to win if those who were against him were going to use it against him anyway? I think his silence has been wise.
You want to think about something kinda weird that you may already know?

Pete really IS a good guy. Due to his character and honesty, should he choose to defend Chrys, I would *reconsider* my view. Until then, no one cares what you think.

At the time, I asked chrys privately if he would clarify his comments so as to put the matter to rest. I don't have that PM, and don't remember the wording.
He didn't answer me, I do remember that.
I wish he'd said something at the time, because if had, something simple like "oh hey, sorry, I didn't mean it like that, sorry it came out sounding that way, no offense intended"
(well it might have looked like this):
