Calvinism Verses the "Historical Gospel" of Jesus Christ

Calvinist do not believe the "Historical Gospel" of Jesus Christ. If they did they would not be Calvinist.

CALVINISM: The belief that before the foundation of the world God chose "Some Certain Persons" to be saved and damned the rest to hell. (Canons of Dort. First Head: Article #10).

To believe Calvinism you must believe that God is an unjust, unmerciful tyrant that delights in sending people to hell. There are serious problems with believing that about God. Salvation always has been and always will be by faith in God and his promises. It is not possible to have saving faith in a God that would condemn billions to hell for no reason other than they were born after Adam. It is not man's fault that he is a sinner, therefore to condemn fallen man to eternal damnation is not fair or just.

WHAT IS THE HISTORICAL GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST?

In the Historical Gospel, "God so loves the world (all of humanity) that he gives his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER (meaning everyone) believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16. This is a radical difference from what Calvinist believe.

Jesus clothes himself in human flesh and becomes one with us, but not one of us. He who was the prince of heaven comes to this dark planet to provide salvation for fallen man. By his righteous sinless life, he offers to God the Father a life of perfect obedience according to his holy law. He does this in our name and on our behalf. It is because of the righteous, sinless life of Christ that we are justified, Romans 3:26. If Jesus had not filled every jot and tittle of the law, Matthew 5:18, no one could be saved.

That was not enough, something had to be done about man's sins. Jesus, in our name and on our behalf becomes sin for us. "For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" 2 Corinthians 5:21. This calls for a response. If you hear this and do not respond, your non-response will be considered to be a response. When God saw the sins of humanity on Jesus, the wrath of God fell on him. Christ died in our place and on our behalf. There is no condemnation to those who are "In Christ". The reason for this is because Jesus has taken our punishment for us. We are the sinners and deserve death, but he who knew no sin becomes sin for us.

In the resurrection of Jesus God brings forth a new humanity. The old Adamic humanity (us) was put to death in Christ, Romans 6:6. We are now new creations in Jesus Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17. God sees all that believe in his Son Jesus Christ as perfect and complete "In Christ" Colossians 2:10. You cannot make yourself any better than what God has made us in Jesus Christ. In Jesus Christ we have been justified, sanctified and redeemed, 1 Corinthians 1:30. "For you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God" Colossians 3:3 If you are going to glory in something, glory in Jesus Christ.

A wretched Calvinist said:
"Salvation is wholly of grace, not only undeserved but undesired by us until God is pleased to awaken us to a sense of our need of it. And then we find everything prepared that our wants require or our wishes conceive; yea, that He has done exceedingly beyond what we could either ask or think. Salvation is wholly of the Lord and bears those signatures of infinite wisdom, power, and goodness which distinguish all His works from the puny imitations of men. It is every way worthy of Himself, a great, a free, a full, a sure salvation. It is great whether we consider the objects (miserable, hell-deserving sinners), the end (the restoration of such alienated creatures to His image and favor, to immortal life and happiness) or the means (the incarnation, humiliation, sufferings and death of His beloved Son). It is free, without exception of persons or cases, without any conditions or qualifications, but such as He, Himself, performs in them and bestows upon them."

The same wretched Calvinist said:
. . . "Regeneration, or that great change without which a man cannot see the kingdom of God, is the effect of the Almighty power. Neither education, endeavors, nor arguments can open the eyes of the blind.

It is God alone, who at first caused light to shine out of darkness, who can shine into our hearts, "to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." People may attain some natural ideas of spiritual truths by reading books, or hearing sermons, and may thereby become wise in their own conceits; they may learn to imitate the language of an experienced Christian; but they know not what they say, nor whereof they affirm, and are as distant from the true meaning of the terms, as a blind man, who pronounces the words blue or red, is from the ideas which those words raise in the mind of the person who can distinguish colors by his sight.

And from hence, we may infer the sovereignty, as well as the efficacy, of grace; since it is evident, not only that the objective light, the word of God, is not afforded universally to all men; but that those who enjoy the same outward means, have not all the same perceptions.

There are many who stumble in the noon day, not for want of light, but for the want of eyes; and they who now see were once blind, even as others, and had neither power nor will to enlighten their own minds. It is a mercy, however, when people are so far sensible of their own blindness, as to be willing to wait for the manifestation of the Lord's power, in the ordinances of His appointment.

He came into the world, and sends forth His Gospel, that those who see not, may see; and when there is a desire in the heart for spiritual sight, it shall in due time be answered.

Nothing about the Gospel which is the heart and the center of the Bible. Nor are there any scripture references.

What does that matter?

You don't believe the scriptures anyway because you haven't been given understanding of them Eph. 4:18.

"If ... an act of grace was published, inviting all criminals to surrender themselves, with a promise of mercy to those who did; though no one was mentioned by name in the act, yet every one who complied with it, and pleaded it, would be entitled to the benefit. Such an act of grace is the Gospel."

I believe all of the scriptures, even the ones that you quote that you think proves your Calvinist religion.

Your problem is that you interpret everything through Calvinism.

I don't have a religion that dictates what I believe.

You need to dump your religion.

You teach a false gospel of salvation by works, by what a person does. Then you teach that people Christ died for are going to perish in their sins! That's a denial of Christ saving death.

All those that were saved in the New Testament had to receive Christ as their savior.

So you insist they must DO something [receive Christ] to become saved.

Hence, You preach a false gospel of salvation by works Paul warned about Gal 1:8!

Sripture says:

Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost

2 Cor. 2:15-16
15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

You make a sham and a mockery out of the ministry of Paul and the apostles.

Believing in Christ is not a work. It is an act of faith that brings with it the Holy Spirit.

Still teaching salvation by works, by what a person does, and still teaching that folks Christ died for are going to perish, denying that His Death alone saved them He died for.

Believing is work a person DOES.

Before New Birth, it's nothing but a work of the flesh.

But the Believing / Faith an elect does after being Born Again, is a Fruit of the Spirit which pleases God Rom 8:7-9.
