are you a feminist?

You want to reverse the roles to some degree, or all the way.
That's too vague. You'll have to be more specific.
That is what a feminist is. That is what you are. You said you would like to see a woman President. If that is true, you are a feminist. I don't know how far you go, such as being a dyke or something nasty, but that is not the impression I got from you. Hence, my not knowing how much of a feminist you are willing to be.

Being the president is working, and you said you have no issue with women working, so does that make you a feminist too?

As for reversing roles, what roles in particular, and how are they reversed? Maybe you can give some examples.

And lastly no, you don't know how much of a feminist I am, and neither does chrys, and it's because we have differing ideas about what being a feminist means. It seems that you equate feminists with being "a dyke or something nasty," so you likely agree with the term feminazi, and think all feminists hate men and/or motherhood. I'd say you don't understand the strides women have made to overcome the societal stranglehold that men had on them, because you accept as normal the hard-fought advancements women have today that were won on their behalf by the women who came before them.

I don't care what you call yourself
women support the democratic party
the democratic party supports abortion
abortion kills babies
it is that simple

not my job to define terms
I use a dictionary
why don't you?

au contraire

it is your job to define terms that you wish to discuss, if you rely on the dictionary your conversations are going to be very limited

it's a nice place to start, but it lacks any real substance

fem·i·nism
ˈfeməˌnizəm/Submit
noun
the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.
synonyms: the women's movement, the feminist movement, women's liberation, female emancipation, women's rights; informalwomen's lib
"a longtime advocate of feminism"

"political, social and economic" are broad terms (pun intended) that are frequently mishandled

not to mention the very bizarre term "equality" that is tossed around as if math or logic has anything to do with it...

is blue equal to pink? after all they are both colors... :)

am I a feminist? almost

women should have an equal footing in most political, social and economic situations, we'd have to discuss all the minutia in order to properly cover those terms

am I a "feminist" is the sense that it is used in today's culture? nope, i'm not interested in taking the side of illogical feminazi's just to gain (white knight) street cred with them.

is anyone using this term (feminism) properly? mostly not

far too many women are intimidated by the feminists
this thread is proof how reluctant they are to adopt or criticize the feminist concept
they don't want to admit that the feminists are keeping abortion legal
they don't want to admit that abortion is necessary for them to be equal
they want the others to do all the dirty work while they remain silent
no one can call them a baby killer as long as they remain silent

focus lad, focus

is the topic feminism or abortion?

those are not equal terms

pro-murder =/= feminist

likewise

"feminazism" =/= feminist

though I can see why you feel compelled to misuse the term the way it is (mis)used these days, if you can't beat 'em join 'em?

Not hardly ...

this thread is proof how reluctant they are to adopt or criticize the feminist concept

Nope, it's proof that women are unwilling to allow someone such as yourself to use references that are inaccurate and deceitful in regards to what they support.

they don't want to admit that the feminists are keeping abortion legal
they don't want to admit that abortion is necessary for them to be equal

Chrys, do you understand how babies are created? It takes BOTH genders to create a life. Why aren't you squawking at both genders? MANY men are pro-abortion.

they want the others to do all the dirty work while they remain silent no one can call them a baby killer as long as they remain silent

When is the last time you took issue with a Republican candidate for being pro-abortion?

I really wonder how well you know women.

they don't want to admit that the feminists are keeping abortion legal
Because no men had a hand in that ever.

they don't want to admit that abortion is necessary for them to be equal
they want the others to do all the dirty work while they remain silent
no one can call them a baby killer as long as they remain silent
I haven't had an abortion. I've always been prolife. Now what?
