When have you ever seen God personally rape anybody?
When have you ever heard of God personally raping anybody?

Good questions.

It's obvious that God wanted to prevent the fall of Jerusalem and the unfortunate consequences like infant death and the rape of women and men. He had warned them through the prophets, gave them counsel, but they rejected Him. The consequences they suffered is not what He wanted, which is why he warned them. He didn't allow those rapes, didn't ordain them, just told them what would happen to them as a consequence of war, which came upon them for infinitely complex reasons (i.e. individual sins as well as national sins working in a synergistic to create a climate of war).

When someone reads the Bible like an atheist (good one TH!), he can come away from it thinking that God ordains and allows rape, but the sum of scripture (Mt 7:12) precludes that idea. It's illogical that God would warn someone to prevent their rape and then punish them with rape for not listening.

so He was just kidding when He said:
I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity

how would He have preferred to punish the wicked for their iniquity?

Do you believe you were dead before you (allegedly) believed the gospel? Why were you dead? Was that punishment for anything? For what? Are you still suffering that punishment? Are you still getting what you think you deserved? What you have now--do you deserve it? What did you do to deserve it?

Connect the dots when if you wake up.

Apparently he is not a Christian? He is enmeshed in the Law of the Old Testament.

According to His law. For example, a murderer is put to death; he's not raped by other men. A thief must pay back what he stole and more, not be raped. An adulterer is put to death, not raped. The law of Moses covers the punishments for iniquities under God's system. Rape was never a punishment for sin.

Furthermore, as has been pointed out to you by LoneStar, rape isn't the wages of sin, death is. No matter how you want to look at it, whether that's from a secular criminal perspective or from the perspective of God's system of government described in the Bible, rape is never a punishment for sin.

Under God's law, a rapist was put to death. The rapist wasn't raped. If a rapist doesn't deserve to be raped in an otherwise "eye-for-an-eye" justice system ordained by God, it's even less plausible that God would punish a woman with rape for iniquity unrelated to rape.

There are women on TOL who have spoken of being raped. Her hideously callous statements are simply unbelievable!

That they are, further her ignorance is simply astounding to boot. A rape victim is someone attacked and forcibly penetrated, completely against her will. It could be a nun walking back from Mass or whatever. That person is violated to a hideous extreme, physically, mentally and emotionally.

For those who don't think it's usually that big a deal then consider yourself in that situation. Say you're walking home one night, minding your own business and suddenly you're wrestled and pinned down to the ground by an assailant. They're too powerful for you to fight and they forcibly penetrate you in the most intimate areas of your body and there's not a darn thing you can do about it. You think you wouldn't be in abject terror and shock at this point alone? Then consider how frightened you'd likely be for your life at that point also. Now, do you seriously reckon that once the ordeal is over you could just shrug it off, go home and be out the following week having a few drinks or whatever as if nowt bloody happened?

Get real.

I think you folks get off on these details.

Imagine you're a stripper who has had many sexual partners and enjoys showing men her private parts.....then pack up your bleeding heart and take it to the other ladies sitting in your parlor who love to talk about the intimate details of the lady next door. They have reality shows on tv these days who would hire you all in a heartbeat. :chuckle:

Your ignorance is simply unbelievable......and your hideously callous LIES are proof you're nothing but a loud mouthed hypocrite. Anyone who hasn't figured that out by now is lacking in discernment. :)

You just seem to get off on calling people sluts if they don't align with your views on 'sexual etiquette' and then say that if they're raped then they get their "just deserts". Add to that your complete ignorance as to how violating such an ordeal it would be for anyone - stripper or otherwise and you're just an embarrassment.

Callousness and lack of discernment are your department on this thread GD - so please, enough with the projection.

without fear of consequence?

Anyone who thinks there are no consequences for bad behavior in this life is living in LA LA Land. The fact, though, is they don't actually believe that. To admit such a thing would destroy their argument that people do not deserve to suffer anything in this life for the evil they do.

They'd be the first to cry out, "He deserved what he got" if it was talking about a guy getting shot for breaking into their home. ;)

No, I used the word "slut" so you could see that strippers are not nuns or innocent children. You seem to be unable to tell the difference. I'd say that should be an embarrassment for you, but....nope. You just keep insisting on showing your ignorance. :idunno:

I don't recall any person who's stated that there aren't consequences in life, but rather that advocating that people deserve to be raped is execrable, based on pious and callous moral 'superiority' effectively.

And ignorance is your department on this thread, Artie, so speak to your cronies before they make bigger fools of themselves than they already have.

No, it's really just yours. You've shown yourself up as the callous and ignorant person you happen to be and your ignorance in regards to the traumatic effects of rape is once again - just an embarrassment.
