    May I ask...

According to the following scripture Peter didn't think the law ever saved the Jews either because he says that none of the Jews (past or present) were able to keep it. Acts 15:7-11 ESV And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early...

NT's use of singular and plural

They wouldn't know about another gospel because there wasn't another one. Paul taught the same gospel the prophets spoke of, which is why all of the apostles incorporated so much of the OT scriptures to prove that Jesus was the Savior of the world. Romans 1:1-7 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus...

NT's use of singular and plural

Amen. One Savior (salvation) of all believers. Acts 15 (11) But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.

NT's use of singular and plural

Then why ask me to? There is one gospel of salvation which was ordained before the world was. That scripture records different stages of history that all lead to the fulfillment of the gospel of salvation. All those stages were patterns of how it all falls into place.

NT's use of singular and plural

Wow. Sorry, but I don't confine the gospel of the cross for salvation to Acts 2 only, but you can if you want to.

NT's use of singular and plural

Yes it is. It can't possibly be wrong that Peter knew the cross was good for salvation since there could be no salvation without it. I don't. And I won't let it bother me that others here no longer consider me their sister in Christ. I will keep studying and keep considering differing...

NT's use of singular and plural

It is relevant. Hmm. So you don't think Peter thought the cross was good for salvation. I think he did. Doesn't have to be just in Acts 2 now does it? Not only was that said before the cross and resurrection, but we also know Jesus Himself ministered to others besides Israel.

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

Romans 8:35-36 KJV (35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (36) As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Which makes it after the death and resurrection. As brilliant as he was in OT knowledge, he didn't even understand until he encountered the risen Lord. It was an instrument of death. Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye...

NT's use of singular and plural

He was after the death and resurrection. The problem is getting all in an uproar when anyone challenges what you think you know at the time.

NT's use of singular and plural

What is not comprehended would be a mystery because the meaning is not yet understood (not yet revealed). Of course it was. Paul preached it right here: 1 Corinthians 2 KJV (7) But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our...

NT's use of singular and plural

It was revealed after the death and resurrection. If it was revealed to them before that then they would have accepted it, but they didn't. A mystery is something that has not yet been revealed, not something that was never mentioned before because it was mentioned in OT but was still a...

NT's use of singular and plural

No one comprehended it which is why it was a mystery to them. Not even the prices of this world comprehended it. That mystery wasn't revealed to the apostles until after the death and resurrection when they encountered the risen Lord. That's because I don't confuse them.

NT's use of singular and plural

The mystery was that Christ would first come as a suffering servant and die instead of being the conquering warrior Christ they expected. Paul, as the other apostles, did not realize it until after it happened when they encountered the risen Lord. 1 Corinthians 2 KJV (7) But we speak the wisdom...

It is. Galatians 3 (14) That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. As did the other apostles.

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

We have no evidence of Paul writing with the eloquent style of the writer of Hebrews. Every writer of scripture was inspired, but they didn't have the same style of writing.

True. I love it too. It tells about the superiority of Christ in so many ways. Superior to sabbath. Superior to Levite priests. Superior to torah. etc.

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

I don't believe Paul wrote Hebrews either because the writing style of Hebrews is much more eloquent than Paul's writings.
