Jack is having a great deal of fun socializing in preschool, though he's bored with the academics. The other day he said, with a puzzled tone, "Most of them can't really read." His teacher said, at our first meeting, that Jack was making impressive progress and that he only struggled with a couple of letters and could count to thirty, which was quietly funny to us, given we'd heard him count to one hundred by ones, fives and tens and run the alphabet and the Fry 100 list without missing a beat.
I asked him how far Nathan and Mason counted and he said, "Oh, around twenty."
