Windows and other computer nonsense

If you have to go back to 8.1, go to settings / update and security / recovery and you can restore 8.1 while your old settings remain, for a month apparently.

I have three computers all now on 10, I think I like it, but then my camera is an Olympus. ;)
Actually discovered that this morning after an update, but I'm thinking that given the popularity of Nikon and Sony and Corel they'll be working to correct the problem.

Yes, I can't see it being delayed, I'd suggest you wait if you can, else use a card reader?

Speaking of photos, I like the new W 10 photo bit within the start launch. But I'd like to know what triggers it collecting photos into albums and why only thirty of mine are, so far. I mean they're set out in folders by date in the larger Pictures bit and it says the album collector is supposed to be looking along those lines. Odd.

So it's use, at present, is limited and I still tend to view my photos through either the old Sony program or my Corel in the Managing Photos section.

I like what they've done with the start button. Nice.

You might like to check out ThumbsPlus 10 TH.

Corel X6 is quite a powerful program, good at many things but you might find ThumbsPlus a bit quicker with less overheads and better suited to simply looking at and organising storage of pictures while doing most of the more basic functions well.

MY computer upgraded to Windows 10. I find the user interface very user friendly. There's still a few hiccups to be ironed out. But the visual experience of Window 10 really is something else. Many photos and art are rendered in 3D.

Mac blows

No, Microsoft substandard crap blows... They still don't have an operating system that is stable. I have never had to run virus software...ever. I don't have registry problems...ever. Mac may not be your cup of tea Doc but the system is far superior to any Microsoft junk that has been developed.

All I know is that I buy and use macs and have for years, and they have always been reliable. I did get an iMac once that had a bad board in it, and I had to fight with Apple to get them to replace it because my board # was just outside their recall parameters. But they did replace it for free, eventually, and it ran fine after that.

Right now I'm using a Mac mini and it runs like a champ. No trouble whatever. And it was inexpensive.

I also have an iPad that I use regularly and it has also been no trouble whatever.

So I see no reason not to stick with Apple.

windows 10 updates on its own
and breaks your computer
this will be great for business machines, sorry we are closed till
windows 10 gets the patch out
One recent case practically gets Windows 10 stuck in an seemingly endless loop of trying to upgrade, failing,
rebooting, and trying again, only to fail. Rinse and repeat, and you've got one very irate customer.
