All is speculation at this time, the debates will separate, and distinguish the Conservative vs. Liberal/Moderate Republican candidates.
But I do enjoy how the Leftists try and pick the Republican candidate.

So if Cruz were to run would the same birthers go after him? He was born in Canada to a U.S. mother and a Cuban father. They lived in Canada for a few years before moving to the States. He recently has renounced his Canadian citizenship in an attempt to head off that question.
His birth history is similar to that of both Obama and McCain, who was born in the Panama Canal Zone, except that at least Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961, two years after Hawaii became the 50th state, which should have eliminated all the stupid speculation. In other words, Cruz's birthplace is more questionable than Obama's. That being said, most legal experts believe that "natural-born" simply means that their citizenship stems from their birth circumstances (including having at least one U.S. citizen for a parent) so that they do not have to be naturalized to receive their citizenship. By that standard Cruz would be covered.
Just food for thought, especially with this crowd.

You are aware that McCarthy was right aren't you? (Had we only listened, we as a nation wouldn't be in the trouble that we are today).
McCarthy was not concerned with rolling back socialist legislation. That is a myth. He wanted to create a panic to restrict press and 1st amendment freedoms.

Ted Cruz was raised with a father who was bigoted and strict. I am not surprised at Cruz's tribalism, racism, nativism and fear of others.
If I had grown up with a father like that I would feel the same way.
