What are some ways you like to cool off from the Summer heat?

Turn the AC down as low as possible and stay inside. Drink lots of cold water--Even the beach is no good when it is hot like this..

It is too hot to be outside unless you just have to, even to go to the beach ..I never cool off at the beach in this kind of heat, it is too hot unless I go under water and stay down there...haa!:surf:

Evaprotive (swamp) Cooler. It doesn't get the house much cooler than about 75° but when its 95° or more outside, it feels wonderful.
Yup! I fill mine with bags of ice mixed with ice water from my large cooler that I use to store the ice (with dry ice packages). My swamp coolers cool me down nicely while outside in the Arizona heat, as I am now. The main one I use is an industrial size, mounted on wheels (Mobile Master Cool brand).

While inside, I keep the AC set at 71 degrees during the summer months, too.

Have a pool, too. ;)

I don't think that really helps

it would be better to just have the ice in you house

the real cooling is due to the water evaporating
and
cooling the water doesn't help it to evaporate

it only works in a dry climate

I take you are not familiar with the swamp cooler he is talking about. To some it is a fan with a mister. A real swap cooler is an A/C unit that runs on water. Not as good as freon, but it does cool the air.

cool showers. not cold, just cool. since we got a new air conditioner about a week ago it's been much better. it had gotten to be 95 in the house which is no fun at all. now it's 77-78 which is what I like.

Keep the thermostat around 70 to save on electricity, and it'll stay "cool," not "cold" around the house, which is much more comfortable, and you won't go into shock if you have to go outside for something.

Oh sheesh, that's freezing for me. I have in on 68 in the winter and whine about being too cold.

I do several different things:

-Wearing less clothes
-Swimming
-Turning on a fan
-Drink large amounts of water (trust me, it really does help regulate body temp.)
