and

if you look at the US data for those two metrics, we're doing way better than many other countries, about the same as most others in the top twenty

curiously, we're about the same as Germany, which I often see touted as a miracle country, attributed to Merkel by Merkel fans, who are, apparently, ill-informed

Here I what I know, my daughter and her husband are both infectious disease docs in separate NYC hospitals. One in Queens, one in Brooklyn. His hospital was working on its 3rd or 4th refrigerated trailer to hold bodies overflowing from the hospital morgue, hers was waiting for a triple decker refrigerated trailer to do the same.
