Pearl Harbor, 9/11, the COVIR-19 Pandemic - nations invariably prepare to fight "the last war," but time and again they are caught totally unprepared to confront new threats because of leadership incapable of thinking outside the box!

Given America's general lack of preparedness to address this pandemic, the authorities are in no position to encourage the general public to wear masks, irrespective of the merits, because there still aren't enough for those healthcare workers on the front line, especially if they are facing the projected surge in patients later in the month!

The US has spent $ trillions to equip the finest military in the world which is now largely standing by helpless as 1000's of Americans are expected to die from a its limited medical infrastructure combined with the unavailability of such basics as masks, gowns and ventilators - all low tech items that could have been stockpiled, in much larger quantities, for a nominal cost!

Just think about it, the numbers they give us locally and statewide and also over all of America; they say there are 3 people that tested positive for covid, two weeks later they say now there are 10 people, then every day they say more. Well how about TAKE OFF the NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO NO LONGER HAVE IT?! Why make us believe that no one recovers and that there are people surrounding us with it?

They need to give us ANOTHER number of people who tested positive and are still active with it. They need to REMOVE from the list the number of people who have recovered from it , so we can get a truer idea of how many have it and are active that we do know about.

That would be the most helpful to know by county because I just watched the local news and it is growing here, but they need to also tell us about the cases that are no longer active and subtract it from the total cases.

I've heard that this President has been advised to drop his "county" proposal because once that information became public, it could attract outsiders flocking to these areas and bringing COVIR-19 with them!

Contrary to Trump's claims, there hasn't been enough national and strategic sampling to provide an accurate survey as to which counties actually have a low incidence of COVIR-19, as opposed to those areas that just haven't been subjected to adequate testing!

Given that COVIR-19 requires a 14 day self-quarantine to cover the incubation period and that test results can take another week to process, even those areas where adequate testing has taken place can only produce data concerning the spread of this pandemic 2 to 3 weeks in arrears - that information is relatively worthless for decision-makers when allocating limited medical resources to respond to current conditions!
