Ukraine Crisis

I guess you think all the military aid to Ukraine from the U.S. has been sent from local surplus stores?

  • 800 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
  • 2,000 Javelin, 1,000 light anti-armor weapons, and 6,000 AT-4 anti-armor systems;
  • 100 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems;
  • 100 grenade launchers, 5,000 rifles, 1,000 pistols, 400 machine guns, and 400 shotguns;
  • Over 20 million rounds of small arms ammunition and grenade launcher and mortar rounds;
  • 25,000 sets of body armor; and
  • 25,000 helmets.
In addition to the weapons listed above, previous United States assistance committed to Ukraine includes:

  • Over 600 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
  • Approximately 2,600 Javelin anti-armor systems;
  • Five Mi-17 helicopters;
  • Three patrol boats;
  • Four counter-artillery and counter-unmanned aerial system tracking radars;
  • Four counter-mortar radar systems;
  • 200 grenade launchers and ammunition;
  • 200 shotguns and 200 machine guns;
  • Nearly 40 million rounds of small arms ammunition and over 1 million grenade, mortar, and artillery rounds;
  • 70 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and other vehicles;
  • Secure communications, electronic warfare detection systems, body armor, helmets, and other tactical gear;
  • Military medical equipment to support treatment and combat evacuation;
  • Explosive ordnance disposal and demining equipment; and
  • Satellite imagery and analysis capability.

We've also sent humanitarian aid: US AID has delivered over a thousand generators to Ukraine as Russia continues to bomb energy infrastructure in an attempt to freeze citizens, which should be considered a war crime.

"SHOTGUNS" weapons of war!
Their performance in the trench warfare of WWI and the jungle warfare of Vietnam not withstanding. The modern soldier pretty much uses the shotgun only as a breaching tool.

Just sayin'. 😐

From Anna's post:
... the military aid to Ukraine from the U.S. ...

  • ... 5,000 rifles, 1,000 pistols, 400 machine guns, and 400 shotguns;
...
They're objectively weapons of war. Less you think the shotties were for a Thanksgiving turkey hunt? And this is all in the context of Democrats constantly beating the drum of needing to get "weapons of war off our streets."

Nah...They are probably being used for breaching tools.

ALL weapons have had their genesis in war...All weapons are weapons of war. The question is whose war are we talking about. Go back far enough and a pointy rock is a weapon of war.

Fools with buzzwords.

How does it feel now that you have become one of those war-mongering Neocons you used to despise?

No, he didn't. Typical fake news from your favorite fake news source.

If "Russia is using the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to provide cover for a network of clandestine agents trying to undermine Ukraine from within"

then President Zelenskyy is doing what he needs to do on a wartime footing.

"The Ukrainian authorities have said that as of October, 33 priests had been arrested for assisting Russia since the invasion began in February, mostly by funneling information to Moscow’s forces."
