There's nothing in either article to suggest religious belief underpins these attacks, although where it comes to dimwitted...

From the OP:

"Anyone want to wager a guess at the religious beliefs of most of the assailants, and why there has been an almost 100 percent increase of this crime there?"

Sure, no implication there at all...

:plain:
Isn't it the truth? I guess that most acid attacks are perpetrated by muslims

Not according to the evidence, in fact nearly thirty percent of the victims have been Asian. There's nothing to support this being some terror craze perpetuated by Muslims at all so it's alarmist and ignorant to say otherwise.
Now the UK is being overrun by Asians too? :idunno:

Just like in america, you rarely see the word black to describe an assailant, the liberals dont want "portray" them in a way that makes them look bad. Yes, its mostly muslims and refugees doing the acid attacks.

Heres a recent one:

Muslim acid attack victim abused online after she leaves hospital
Resham Khan says that a man called her a 'b**ch' after initially wishing her well

So, you quote a story of a Muslim victim of an attack as evidence that most of the attacks are being carried out by Muslims?! Despite there being no evidence for it and in actual fact to the contrary?

They call Muslims/arabs/middle easterners Asian in the uk.

Eddited to add:

Acid throwing, also called an acid attack,[1] a vitriol attack or vitriolage, is a form of violent assault[2][3][4] defined as the act of throwing acid or a similarly corrosive substance onto the body of another "with the intention to disfigure, maim, torture, or kill".[5] Perpetrators of these attacks throw acid at their victims, usually at their faces, burning them, and damaging skin tissue, often exposing and sometimes dissolving the bones.[6] The most common types of acid used in these attacks are sulfuric and nitric acid. Hydrochloric acid is sometimes used, but is much less damaging.[7] The long term consequences of these attacks may include blindness, as well as permanent scarring of the face and body,[8][9][10] along with far-reaching social, psychological, and economic difficulties.[5]

Today, acid attacks are reported in many parts of the world. Since the 1990s, Bangladesh has been reporting the highest number of attacks and highest incidence rates for women,[11][12] with 3,512 Bangladeshi people acid attacked between 1999 and 2013,[13] and in Pakistan acid attacks are at an all-time high and increasing every year.[14]

Although acid attacks occur all over the world, this type of violence is most common in South Asia.[15]
