The problem is 'us vs them'. As long as the other side is the enemy instead of the minority to negotiate with to reach the best legislative compromises, we will go nowhere. As best as I can tell both sides are at new lows and digging deeper.

And this is why democracy (or its kissing cousin "republic") is bad. It inherently divides the people over even the smallest issues.

Monarchy ftw!

I think Churchill put it best:

Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…
British House of Commons 11 Nov 1947

Our Republic system tries to some degree to fix the worst of the problems with democracy but it is highly dependent on the majority and the minority working together to achieve the best possible balance for all.

The Dem party has officially taken obstruction to another level with the likes of Max Waters (and her ilk at the fore)...

Go Maxine. Should the House, Senate or both flip, Dems will have enough power to obstruct the destruction of America. Hello supoena power and investigations.

Trying to fix problems with another problem doesn't work.

Republics/democracies rely on the majority to lead the country.

But God says that the majority are wicked, and therefore any nation based on majority rule will become increasingly more wicked as time progresses. Take America, for example.

We started out very well, being the minority against England. But look at us today, crime happens on a regular basis, and the government can't keep up, and has even legalized major crimes.

No, democracy/republic is not the answer.

It has those problems but of the alternatives, it is still the best choice. And America attempts to address the issue of the majority with the constitutional protections that help to protect the minority and give it a voice in society.

Except it's not.

And America attempts to address the issue of the majority with the constitutional protections that help to protect the minority and give it a voice in society.

And the result is what we have today, a wicked nation, that slaughters its innocent in the womb and lets immorality run rampant in the streets, all while the minority, which opposes such, is outvoted. No, democracy/republic is not the best. It's by far the worst.

Even the worst monarchs never legalized the killing of the innocent, nor allowed immorality to run rampant in the streets. Not even the worst monarchs brought such wickedness into their kingdoms, yet we have wickedness reaching all the way to the top of the government.

Democracies and republics (or any multi-party systems) inherently divide the people on what is right and wrong. A monarchy does not divide the people, but unites them, even if the monarch himself does wrong.

If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. - Mark 3:24-25 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark3:24-25&version=NKJV
