I think I'm most dogmatic about issues of social justice, particularly since working with destitute and detained asylum seekers and refugees. I've found it quite hard in many ways to see how society can be so cruel to so many vulnerable people.

Mac and God rules (God supremely, Mac imperfectly, but still superior).

Mac's got a good interface, but a lousy implementation.
And it's a more closed, restrictive, expensive and overall unfree environment than the PC.

Apple is far more evil than either Microsoft or the GNU/Linux movement.

I don't know why anyone in their right mind would buy a Mac. I really can't think of a great reason to spend that much money on middling hardware.

I have peripheral compatibility, no crashes, no viruses, etc. My PC friends always have problems and are always taking it in for help (I never do). I am a dummy, so Mac works for me.

As long as you aren't an idiot, you won't have problems with PC. The hardware is virtually the same, except you pay double for the same parts in Mac. If you have basic google skills, you can solve any potential PC problem. And as long as you don't download porn or open .exe files in your email, you won't get viruses.

My problem with Mac is not that it doesn't work well (though some of the features-- ahem, mouse acceleration-- are mind bogglingly stupid and impossible to turn off for some programs), but the price people are suckered to pay for 2 or 3 year old technology. Look at the new Mac towers: http://store.apple.com/us_smb_78313/browse/home/shop_mac/family/mac_pro

That's right, five thousand dollars for an already "old (ish)" computer. You can build a better and more optimized pc for less than 2 thousand dollars.

But as long as people continue the think they are part of something special, Apple will make money hand over fist.

You likely have some valid points, but I am dumb enough to pay for the name. I am satisfied and am scared of Microsoft.

My half volleyball iMac was bought for the cool factor (I now have a new one for $1299, a fraction of what I have paid in the past for something much more powerful).

I am logical, but they say people buy on emotion. Guilty as charged.

e.g. I bought a Commodore Amiga when they first came out and probably paid $3000 in the 80s (including printer). I picked it over Mac (backed wrong horse) because it had 4096 colors vs black/white apple and stereo vs mono sound. It is now in the junk yard, but I kept it for years. My next computer was the original iMac half-ball and I still use it (lasted years and years). My first two computers were over-priced and like a calculator now in some ways.

Not bad, but a mix of salvific, non-salvific issues.
Knight started this thread with the question:

What issues are you most dogmatic about?

Abortion is non-salvific yet, the Gospel is. So, what is your point? Knight specifically wrote "Issues" which includes salvific and non-salvific ones.
