Had our thanksgiving meal today. Just me, the wife, and my son. Tomorrow I will cook spaghetti and relax.

Why wouldn't you have turkey sandwiches?
Our family is famous for cooking too much. My sister used to work at a nursing home and we used to take several plates of food to the nursing home to share with the people who were working on Thanksgiving.

Spaghetti today (wife knows it's my favorite), and Turkey tomorrow. Pie... both days!
Eating with the in-laws, which can be either wonderful or frightening, depending on whether the mother-in-law has read some "fabulous" idea for a "different" repast. :mmph: Though given she's still living down the Christmas "do-dad" light lunch that would have made Gandhi weep and gnash his teeth in hunger a couple of years past, the outlook is hopeful. 
Tomorrow we will host my wife's family for Thanksgiving. Then on Friday we go to Prisca and Lion's house for Thanksgiving with my side of the family. I enjoy and look forward to both days.
If you get skinny enough, you might not be appealing to the Velociraptors running around down there.
Extra turkey served up with gravy and other fixings on Friday.

I guess I am grandma, because everyone is coming to my house.
I've been cooking all evening. Deviled eggs, dishes of dressing, giblet gravy, fresh creamed corn, and for the first time - going to brine a turkey. Must pray over the turkey.
Tomorrow ... must cook the turkey and warm a ham ... and warm everything else... get all the accompaniments on the table with everything timed perfectly for the people bringing side dishes. No pressure here. Ha!
But, I'm actually having fun! I love Thanksgiving. I'll greatly miss my family, who have passed on. My sister even died on Thanksgiving day several years ago ... so I am so sad while I am at the same time I'm happy about cooking for her children. One thing about growing older ... the loss of family is so heartbreaking - especially on holidays.
Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving and may you also appreciate and remember the blessing of the family God gave you.

Well, I'm working. Why? Because awesome stuff don't buy itself! Haha, no I'd rather just work then sit around eating and entertaining the family with random idiocy because I'm going crazy from being bored to death. I could seriously work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and it not bother me.
I work 10 hours tomorrow, then shopping Friday morning. I hope to be able to take Friday off to sleep, then it's back to 10-12 hour shifts saturday and sunday.

I don't know how to cook for just one (or two, for that matter). My grandmother taught me how to cook when I was about seven. We cooked for Nana, my family (Mom and three daughters), Uncle Don & Aunt Mary & her sister and mother, Uncle Jim and Aunt Hope, and Uncle Joe and Aunt Carolyn.
For the last thirteen years, I've only cooked for (at most) three people. But, I learned many years ago that my freezer works wonders for separating things into meals for three.
If we are any sort of example, then Americans are so blessed.
We are having:
Turkey, dressing, and giblet gravy
Ham with spiced apple rings
Canned whole cranberry sauce
Green bean casserole
Sweet Potato casserole
Fresh creamed corn
pecan pie and cake (TBA)
Coffee and sweet iced tea
I pray that Americans will renew their appreciation for God's many blessings ... and come to their senses and find the courage to reject communism and socialism.
We are having:

We're going to grandma's, which is actually my mom's house.
Im bringing a minced-meat pie, which is really minced-apple-raisin-orange-lemon and no real meat at all. I did add a shot of brandy to it for old school authenticity. My grandma used to bring these pies for Christmas and they were really good. Hope mine lives up to the standard.
