:plain: Good idea/just cause in theory....poor execution. = Spoiled kids pathetically stomping their feet.

Phone inquiries into the county property records & taxpayer services office reveal that the Stephens family home is not and never has been in foreclosure, that property taxes had been paid in full this year and the remaining balance on their mortgage for the half-million dollar home is less than one year’s worth of tuition+fees at their son’s law school.

The nail in this empty protest‘s coffin is a delightful phone conversation I just had with Robert’s mother, Marquita, where she admitted Chase Bank indeed was not “taking” their home from them. Instead, due to a recent “reduction in income,” they’ve decided to hold a “short sale.”

Meh, kinda got my hopes up that we were returning to the days of massive civil disobedience by young people, the kind that made change happen in the 60s and 70s.

But no.

I haven't been following it very closely but it seems like a good thing and cause.

But perhaps some bad stuff like what TomO posted.

I'm glad the MSM is covering it now.

I've been watching the whole thing pretty closely K-Mo....And had a similar outlook that Buzz did.....Notice the past tense to the sentence regarding my outlook.

While the example I cited is an isolated incident it is VERY representative of what I've been seeing.

 Now I look at these kids and wonder how much extra in taxes they are causing their parents for the Cops overtime to baby-sit.

I think it all started to go down hill when the volunteer medical people went on-line begging for cigarettes.....oh, and band-aids. :plain:

When I see news coverage of a protest, I always look at the signs - not just what the message is, but who is sponsoring it. When I see Socialist and Communist sponsors, it tells me all I need to know. For this particular event, I've already seen the Socialist-sponsored. If I saw enough photos, I'm pretty sure I'd see Communist as well.

I'm pretty sure I saw Pan Dulche in some of those photos. :chuckle:

A lot of on-the-right Americans have a battered wife's attitude towards the people who sank us into this mess.

I'm not completely sure what you mean by "Socialist sponsored" signs.

If you look at the banners or signs which are preprinted by particular groups, the name is usually printed at the bottom, e.g.: Communist Party of America, Democrat Socialists of America, etc.

This movement could be the american equivalent of the Arab Spring. I hope it grows and lasts. It needs to know what its goals are, and who it is that is causing the problems they are protesting. It is the Republicans (including many who post here) who prop up the trickle-down, free market policies which directly cause the inequality that they are protesting. And the need to vote out the rascals that the Tea Party put in in Nov.2010, needs to be clearly stated. They need to be the alternative voice to the idiot Tea Party. They need to know who the enemy is. Trickle-down policies are the one and only cause of our extreme and gross inequality and corporate malfeasance.

To recap ...
A "movement" of self-absorbed immature idiots, cheered on by our resident self-absorbed, immature idiot.

:idunno: I wouldn't focus on the sponsors too much. The message of the protests should be accepted or rejected on its own.

And I would guess that you wouldn't support the message even without the socialist sponsors.
