toldailytopic: Should Christians involve themselves in politics?

Only a person with majorly screwed up priorities would use the phrase "godless liberal."

check - mission accomplished. Wanted to rile up a liberal and did. Wanted to make some one think about the godless priorities that their party of choice has.
The liberal party ... promotes abortion ... etc., etc., etc.

Stuff like this doesn't lead to constructive dialogue. :nono:

Hey, it is almost an election year ... whose says that I should be ready to shut up and compromise. God blessing those who cry out about evil ... and condemns those who call evil good and good evil. They are on their way to hell if they don't reflect upon truth.

Liberals ... especially Christian ones needs to take a long look at what their party of choice supports. If they are godless liberals ... then they would just want me to shut up - point made.

Don't get me wrong there are godless conservatives too... they are merely fiscal conservatives... IWO, voting without any Christian values considered.

Hey, it is almost an election year ... whose says that I should be ready to shut up and compromise. God blesses those who cry out publicly about evil ... and He condemns those who call evil good and good evil. They are on their way to hell if they don't wake up and reflect upon truth.

Liberals ... especially Christian ones need to take a long look at what their party of choice supports. If they are godless liberals ... then they would just want me to shut up - and not be involved in politics - then they would have full run to accomplish their godless will -point made. But, if they are Christians then they just need to consider what God says.

Notice that I did not say that they should not be involved in USA politics ... 'cause I would support that right for them according to our constitution... but many of them would try to prevent me, as a Christian, from participating if they could get their way. Even now they try to ridicule us and shame us ... to mock and make fun of us ... to dismiss us and our views through the media or what ever means are available to them. They twist the meaning of language within historical writings and pervert the original intent of the writers of our founding fathers to tell us that we should shut up and stay out of politics. They (the godless liberals) don't fool me with their agenda.

Don't get me wrong there are godless conservatives too... they are merely fiscal conservatives... IWO, voting without any Christian values considered.

Christians all over the world have shown that we can demonstrate Christ's love and transforming power WITHOUT setting foot in the halls of government.

Christians all over the world have shown that we can demonstrate Christ's love and tranforming power WHILE setting foot in the halls of government. Why would you want to exclude that part of our society. Believe it or not, those ARE real people in there.

Are missionaries going to Kenya and handing out political pamphlets?
No.
They're building homes and churches, helping those in need, and always sharing Christ's love and message.

If there is a venue for Christians then they should be talking to the leaders in government. I have a friend in Montenegro (formerly part of Serbia and Montenegro and before that part of communist Yugoslavia) that has a non-profit agency whos purpose is to bring principles of good government to government leaders who don't have much experience in a democratic society. In so doing he is able to share how a civil society is based on the people being self-governing (quoting a few of our nation's founding fathers) and the best way for that is if they are submitted to Christ. Government leaders hear his message and get saved and then seek to build a just society apart from any benefit they get as a government leader, which in their society is still run on the bribe system. No matter how innocent and civil a people may be if they can't find godly legislators they are not going to live in peace.

Don't like a third party ... and Republicans are the best I've got, in regards to their party platform, to reflect most of my views.

third parties just protect the democrats
and
we have to point that out to them

Ok, time to spell it out for you two knuckleheads.

Republican Party is liberal, Democrat Party are socialists. Is that clear enough?

Well, I'm glad to see Ron Paul run under the Republican party this time. A third party is just a vote for the socialist Dem. candidate.

Now is the time for true conservatives to become informed and active. We must see if we can find any leaders among us that are not representing us correctly and look for future ones to lift up in their place. Our participation in the selection process and our final voting are worthwhile steps toward change the way we like it.

A third party is not the way to go.

Who asked you to shut up and compromise? There are a few people in this thread saying that Christians should stay out of politics but it isn't because they are "godless liberals" who want you to stay out of it so they can advance their evil agenda. :plain:

The statist liberal speaks.

Being that the Libertarian Party (hereinafter known as the "Loonatarian Party") mirrors much of the Democratic Party Platform when it comes to social issues (abortion and homosexuality to name two, including homosexual marriage), not to mention the similarity in their open borders policies, be careful when you go throwing the "l" word around drbrumley.

I have to hand it to the democrats though, at least they don't want to legalize ALL recreational drugs and prostitution.

If you're calling Ron Paul a conservative, we need to talk.

I listen to the news daily ... and hear some of our own elected officials putting down conservatives like me. I hear and read about groups who claim that there is some sort of separation of church and state that limits Christians from speaking their mind. Oh, surely, you know of these things from the media ... or do you not pay attention?

Come on - wake up!

Are you sure about that or are these issues just down the line in their priorities?

That has nothing to do with this thread.
