In war it happens unfortunately but then as Nick isn't advocating war but murder, what exactly is your point? Or do you think the verse he used is something that should apply today?

I wouldn't expect any other response from a blind man.
Here's what I suggest, in addition to what Nick is saying. (Yes, I said "in addition to".)
After surrounding an enemy nation, positioning troops around the entire border, cutting them off from the rest of the world, sometime (reasonable) before launching the nukes or weapons at our enemies, fly over the targeted country in planes tossing out flyers that read something like this (in whatever language, of course):
"Attention: If you are reading this, lay down your weapons and flee the country. Bring nothing but the clothes you are wearing and the bare necessities. We will be launching nuclear missiles at a location in this country within X amount of time. If you arrive at the border weaponless, we will allow you through as an innocent refugee. If you are found carrying weapons, you will be detained as a prisoner of war. If you attack our troops, you will be killed with prejudice. If you stay, you will be killed. If you are unable to flee, please [do something to make it known].
This will be your only warning."
What do you think will happen?
