The Two Faces of the Sabbath

why did James say Moses always had those that taught him on Sabbath...because he knew even these goyim would continue to hear him taught from Sabbath to Sabbath...

Now a days you can hear Moses everyday but well goyim crowded the synagogues on the Sabbath...far from the temple...and now we are the temple in a new covenant with His Law written in our hearts and minds...not His Son's law...(which is the same btw)

Yup...Sabbath was kept before the earthly temple between the earthly temples and long after the earthly temple...

The New Testament does tell us to live and love JUST AS He did...and that fulfills the Law...no not destroys it...

We need it later for judgement day...to point out sin ok? One Law for Israel and non Israelite...in Him the two are ONE doing it HIS WAY...(He also went to synagogues and not just to the temple...)

Jesus doesn't tell us all to go to the temple everyday.

We are the temple, and going to a building on a special day is worthless.

you are correct...

He did say to pray that the Sabbath would be kept in the future...fleeing, as in running and hiding for your life is not resting...sounds like you could flee any other day but not on the Sabbath so the instruction was to pray that they would have to flee som other day but not on the Sabbath...

Nothing there about having to go the the temple on the Sabbath or any other day...

We are the temple, and going to a building on a special day is worthless.

Yes we are...and our temple needs rest and refreshment from six days of physical work...

Yup we can worship in spirit and truth...what is truth? Keep the will of His Father...fear God and keep His commandments is the duty of man...not just Jews...

We can if we choose and are encouraged to do so meet corporately with others and worship outdoors at home at a building...

You know, JUST LIKE our example did...and on the seventh day Sabbath...announced His ministry at one...and on the Sabbath...

It is not in the scriptures to say that we are to pray the Sabbath is kept.

I rest in Jesus all day every day.

You can meet with people who believe as you do any day of the week.

You have that freedom in Christ.

Yes it is.

He could have said pray that your flight be not on a Monday...or Thursday...but He didn't...He said Sabbath...because He wants you to keep Sabbath...as He did

I rest in Jesus all day every day.
you don't work six days then...set the seventh apart...as He did...

You can meet with people who believe as you do any day of the week.

You have that freedom in Christ.

You actually have that freedom outside of Him too...

His yoke is easy but it ain't freedom...in Him you are only free from the condemnation of the Law...and are no longer your own free to do as you wish...but His and to do His will...follow Him...live AS He did...and not just meet with like minded people every day...but keep the Sabbath day holy...

No he doesn't say that. He says pray it does NOT HAPPEN on the Sabbath.

He said that because he said the temple was going to be destroyed and if it happens on the Sabbath then it would be full of people.

16 Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews began to persecute Him. 17 But Jesus answered them, “To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working.” 18 Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

I know riiiight? It's right there...

He said that because he said the temple was going to be destroyed and if it happens on the Sabbath then it would be full of people.

But as you argued, the temple is full of people EVERY day...so it's not about sparing lives...but keeping the Sabbath holy...that's hard to do when you are fleein' and hidin' and being all anxious and fearful...not much chillin' and contemplating the goodness of God ya dig? So that's why He asked for prayers that the fleeing not be on Sabbath...Sabbath needs keepin'...

Besides Sabbath could be celebrated away from the temple away from Jerusalem in fact...especially when you see the abomination of desolation in its midst...

All of Judea was to flee when they saw it...luckily Sabbath can be celebrated away from the temple...

HalleluYah

Yup working doing good works and healing and refreshing...

Two reasons the Jews tried all the harder to kill him...not only did they think He was breaking the Sabbath but they thought He was calling God His own Father...making Himself equal with God.

Now where those Jews right to think so? does calling God our own Father really make us equal to Him? He asked us to call Him Father...

Does doing good works break the Sabbath?

NO to both...Jews lie and twist the scriptures and add to them...

Stop adding to the word as the Pharisees did...

The second covenant was signed and sealed with His blood at the cross and already that evening His followers hurried to continue keeping the Sabbath as per the commandment.

You can't add or take away from a covenant once it is signed and sealed Yes?

They didn't and stayed loyal and faithful.

A Sabbath keeping remains for the people of God...

Pray like this..."Our Father who art in heaven...thy will be done, on earth AS it is in heaven"

It's absurd to think only 9 of the 10 are being kept in heaven...especially since He kept the Sabbath even before the fall...

Jesus is our Sabbath Rest.

We no longer have to observe special days.

Observing special days is worthless as far as for our salvation.

Jesus is not our one day rest...nor is He a day...He gives rest...even a Sabbath rest as there remains a sabbath keeping for His people...but also six days of work...

Nobody ever HAD to observe these days...they WANTED to...lol

Observing special days has ALWAYS been worthless as far as FORour salvation...

Observing special days is valuable because of our salvation by Him...because He asked we live and love just as He did...

He prayed His Father's will to be done...making it all on earth as it is in heaven...

All special days were about Jesus.

They are teaching tools.

Jesus has come and we have the Teacher.

Special days were a shadow.

Again, the shadow is about Jesus.

Jesus has come and there are no shadows in light.

Observing special days is now worthless.

We have to obey Jesus all day everyday.

All special days were about Jesus.{/quote] sure...and His Father...and how and why the need of both...even Jesus didn't make it only about Jesus...

They are teaching tools.
yup still are...you are correct...

Jesus has come and we have the Teacher.
and the Teacher still uses the tools and tutors which are teaching about Him and more...The Teacher certainly doesn't throw them out or counter them or change them...

Imagine learning 2+2=4 by a teaching tool or tutor but when the actual teacher comes imagine being taught 2+2=5 or "addition doesn't matter anymore"...LOL

Special days were a shadow.
check again I think you will find that Paul was clear they are a shadow...of the good things still to come...and well he wrote that after the Teacher came and went...so what things are yet to come...notice it is thing and not person yes?

Oh and the verse ends with "body of Christ" which is the church which should establish these things...don't let any man judge you...

Again, the shadow is about Jesus.
ummm no...a shadow of the good things to come...still to come...He is not a thing although good...and when this text was written He was already come...

Jesus has come and there are no shadows in light.
He teaches that the teaching tools and tutors are still relevant...still

Observing special days is now worthless.
to obtain salvation...as they always were...but when one is saved...passed over...well then these days are indeed special still and teach and show how and why and point to Him...still...

But to obtain salvation? Sure...they never did that...

We have to obey Jesus all day everyday.
especially Sabbath as He said to even pray that it be kept in the future...yes of course obey Him and do JUST AS He did...which was keep the special days...to remain in His Father's Love He obeyed His Father's Law which includes those special days...

Even His first full day in the New Covenant age after He signed the covenant with His blood and sealed it with His death was spent keeping the Sabbath as was the commandment...still...asleep in the tomb...and His followers too hurried to keep it as was the commandment...

The irony...first full day of the Edenic covenant with all of man was kept as a Sabbath and first full day of the New Covenant age with all man was kept as a Sabbath...

On it He rested and rose healed and refreshed ready to appear the next day as first fruits to His Father on the first fruits festival...

Divine timing don't ya think?

Even Paul instructed we celebrate the feasts with the new unleavened bread of spirit and truth...hmmmm do you eat unleavened bread for Christmas?

They say that is everyday too...

You are easily proven wrong. Tell me how many animal sacrifices you have made.

Imagine learning 2+2=4 by a teaching tool or tutor but when the actual teacher comes imagine being taught 2+2=5 or "addition doesn't matter anymore"...LOL
Your analogy is not from God.
Jesus isn’t a tutor he is the Teacher.
check again I think you will find that Paul was clear they are a shadow...of the good things still to come...and well he wrote that after the Teacher came and went...so what things are yet to come...notice it is thing and not person yes?
Paul speaking of the prophecies fulfilled.
However, there still are good things to come in Christ.
That has nothing to do with the shadows not being in light.

Oh and the verse ends with "body of Christ" which is the church which should establish these things...don't let any man judge you...
You are judging by a Sabbath.

ummm no...a shadow of the good things to come...still to come...He is not a thing although good...and when this text was written He was already come...

The shadow is about Jesus he is the good that came.

Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Hebrews 8:5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

Hebrews 10:1 [ Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All ] The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Galatians 4:10
You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!

The scripture does not say pray to keep the Sabbath.
The temple was destroyed and that scripture was to the Jews to warn them that the temple would be destroyed.

Luke 19:44
They will level you to the ground--you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God."

We do not need teaching tools anymore to lead us to Christ. We need the gospel.
We now have both the teacher and the gospels...His Teaching His Testimony and as John "here are those that keep the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ...we are commissioned to spread this Gospel which contain the teaching tools...Paul clearly says we establish the Law...wherever we go...which law do you establish? God's or some mistranslated choose whatever whenever any day everyday false worship?

You are easily proven wrong. Tell me how many animal sacrifices you have made.
it was always mercy rather than sacrifice...and I have sacrificed my life for an amazing blessing...sacrifice from my lips...

No temple no sacrifice...none needed prior the temple...between the temples and after the temple...Yah still had His people who still have a sabbatismos...as if Greeks don't have their own word for rest or seventh day in their own language but must you a Hebrew root word...LOL

Your analogy is not from God.
Jesus isn’t a tutor he is the Teacher.
never said Yahushua was the tutor...the Law is...go and teach it establish it...be peculiar separate and sanctified by keeping it...

Paul speaking of the prophecies fulfilled.
no Paul was clearly speaking of who you should let judge you...LET NO MAN JUDGE YOU...but the BODY OF CHRIST...the church...

http://www.cogwriter.com/news/church-history/gods-holy-days-and-human-mistranslations/

it determines the Law established as it is the faithful bride of the lawgiving husband...

However, there still are good things to come in Christ.
sure...and the Sabbath is a shadow that still points that out...as do the other festivals some still unfulfilled...

That has nothing to do with the shadows not being in light.
light causes shadows which help determine the direction from where the light comes from...the source of it...and if you are IN HIM you are doing AS HE DID...

You are judging by a Sabbath.
I am part of His Body the church...I am part of His people who stil have a sabbath keeping...a citizen of spiritual Israel which kept sabbath and still does...I am grafted into a trunk and root producing more similar fruit not less...I follow Him who is my Teacher and Example even keeping the Sabbath in the first full day of the New Covenant Age at rest in the tomb...as His followers did...but no not in the tomb...lol

The shadow is about Jesus he is the good that came.
and as Paul clearly said the good THINGS still to come...stop making the teacher a THING...Paul had Him and the Gospel and was speaking of still more to come...

Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These area shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Yup still are...of things to come...stop making our Savior a THING...He is also NOT a day of rest...He gives rest...in Him is found rest...but Sabbath is a specific period of time after six days of work...think NOT I have come to destroy the Law...so stop thinking what the Teacher said not to think...heaven and earth remain so do the jots and tittles...

Hebrews 8:5
They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven.
This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

There ya go...on earth as it is in HEAVEN...and we are still to pray His will be done here as in Heaven...do you copy the pattern as it is in Heaven? No Sunday Ham there better practice or rehearse here...

Hebrews 10:1 [ Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All ] The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

Yup the law of sacrifice is no longer needed...no need to shed blood for Him AT ALL...including joining up for Zionist crusades

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not changelike shifting shadows.

See? If He changed the shadows would...Yah does not change and when Sabbath was created all things were good...even before the fall...given to man made for man...

No greater mercy no greater grace than to give an instruction to prove your love...

Galatians 4:10
You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!

As they formerly did as pagan Celts before GOD KNEW THEM and by their obedience their sabbitismos...

The scripture does not say pray to keep the Sabbath.
that is what is done in heaven...and yes pray fleeing and the stress and anxiety of being persecuted not occur on a sabbath so that its rest can be kept...duh...

The temple was destroyed and that scripture was to the Jews to warn them that the temple would be destroyed.
other scripture warned the temple was to be destroyed...and so what?...Sabbath is before between and after the physical temple...it is a TEMPLE IN TIME...His Law is in us the new physical temples

Notice He didn't pray the temple be spared but the Sabbath...

Luke 19:44
They will level you to the ground--you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God."

Yup no need for a temple...

And this New Testament age He began at rest on the Sabbath...as His followers did and still do...as per the commandment...which we are to establish...because we are not our own...but His bought with a price...Slaves to His will...jots and tittles

Not because we want to become His...but because we already are...

Where is it written that the Pharisees killed Stephen?

Acts 7:54When the members of the Sanhedrin heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. 55But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56“Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

57At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, 58dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul.

Later Paul a Pharisee accepts that:

Acts 22:20 And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.'

Stephen was not killed for teaching a change in the Law...he wasn't and NONE of the disciples were...those were all false charges from false witnesses meant to slander and incite people against them...

But because he accused the members of the Sanhedrin of killing Him...who now sits at the right Hand of God...
