This is a reference to the Gihon Spring which provided running water to the Temple to flush away the blood from sacrifices.

The Temple sat above and slightly to the west of this spring.

The spring of water is the Holy Spirit.

John 7:37 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Jesus gives the Holy Spirit, the Living Water.

John 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

John 4:10
Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

In this next scripture God says that HE IS the LIVING WATER.

Jeremiah 2:13
"My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

These scriptures say the Living Water is the Holy Spirit.

John 7:38
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."

John 7:39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

So, Read this;

1 John 5:7 New King James Version (NKJV)

7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

I would love to explain that scripture to you, but first acknowledge those scriptures I have already given.

Prove it that I have done that; explain those scriptures instead of merely posting another scripture.
I'll tell you what they do not mean. They don't mean the Father is the Holy Spirit, nor do they mean that Jesus is the Holy Spirit. The Father sent the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

John 14:26 New King James Version (NKJV)

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

He is separate from the Father and the Son.

The scriptures say God the Father is the living water, and that He is Spirit, and Jesus gives us that Spirit when we are saved.
