The origins of abiotic species

I wonder what would be the origin of the lifeless chemical soup? Where did it come from?

Read this and comment.

If you choose to, of course. It is not an order, just thought I'd give you folks another shot. :) Can you reach for the stars on this one and give some intelligent/thoughtful responses?

There is no such thing as a "self-replicating molecule."

What they mean is that they can set up conditions that allow the environment to produce the "rings." Unfortunately for abiogenesis, the production of the environment requires a person to control it. It could never exist otherwise.

So its evidence for an Intelligent Designer.

The article says "It is impossible to know how life on Earth really started...".
It is only impossible to know, if you are unwilling to follow the evidence where it leads.
In the beginning, God created...

One of my favs...

One of my favs...

"God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to
Him, "Lord, we don't need you anymore. Science has finally
figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other
words, we can now do what you did in the beginning."

"Oh, is that so? Tell me..." replies God.

"Well," says the scientist, "we can take dirt and
form it into the likeness of You and breathe life into it, thus
creating man."

"Well, that's interesting. Show me."

So the scientist bends down to the earth and
starts to mold the soil.

"Oh no, no, no..." interrupts God, "Get your own dirt."

We need God, just not people like you.

I know you would like to make yourself out to be important by hanging your hat on the "God" rack. But we all know what you are all about.

Where did dirt come from? Do you have any idea?

Your joke has absolutely nothing to do with researching the natural world. Nice try. It works with people like Stripe, but not anyone with half a working brain.

I've always liked this joke, because it actually serves as a very good illustration of the ever-retreating nature of the God of the Gaps argument. Think of all the gaps theists used to be able to put their God into just 100 years ago. Now they're mostly relegated to the "Where did the universe come from" gap, as this joke shows.

I will 2nd the nomination for this being a good joke. :)
And its right on target with the topic.

And it is proved again: Noguru has nointerest in a discussion of the science; just a desire to engage in nosense.

Oh the irony is just too much some times. Let's see how accurate Stripe really is. I posted an OP with discussion about science to start a discussion here about science. Stripe's contribution so far has been the following:

Nope, you are wrong again. As has been pointed out many times to you. You see Stripe, in reality science is what it is, not what you claim it is.

Unfortunately for abiogenesis, the production of the environment requires a person to control it. It could never exist otherwise.

And your point is?

How else do you expect researchers to create possible scenarios in the lab without preparation?

The point in the article being (not your distorted deceitful view of reality) that natural processes are all that is needed. IOW, no supernatural. The fact that we cannot replicate the exact scenario that historically occurred is admitted, since we do not know that scenario.

Do you even realize how stupid you sound? No, I don't think so. In your mind all that is necessary is that you got Jesus on your side. :rotfl:

From stuff before that.

Are you familiar with the evidence of how all the elements resulted from cosmological processes?
