The INVESTIGATED has FIRED its INVESTIGATOR!

Last month Trump was on the record stating that he had confidence in the FBI Director - Sean Spicer said the same thing last week.

Either the words of this President and his representatives count for nothing, or something happened recently that triggered the Director's fall from grace!

That of course would contradict today's "treatment of Hillary" narrative - but this version will probably undergo multiple "alternate" revisions by this time tomorrow, in a White House that is "truth challenged!"

So the White House trots out its deputy chief communications director to spin another campfire tale. This one involving the firing of Comey. The latest unraveling yarn (yes) was that the foundation of the firing was last summer's press conference where Comey allegedly stepped around the chain of command. It was an act that "[couldn't] be ignored."

Much like Trump's explanation.

Last summer---before October, when Trump was busy praising the director for announcing the reopening of his investigation into Clinton's emails. But that was different, says the White House. That was candidate Trump. President Trump wears another hat. And this new, investigatee hat invites Trump to see things in a way he couldn't before. Now the FBI's reputation has been "sullied" and a letter has gone out to its director listing his "atrocities" instead of thanks, offering a view of the other side of his door instead of cooperation into an investigation that should be seeing a special prosecutor at some point in the not too distant.

Atrocity? Nothing like a little perspective.

Spicer was (literally) hiding in the bushes trying to figure out how to explain Trump's unhinged behavior this time.

The Trump administration has done untold damage to the integrity of the presidency, and it's time for the GOP show some spine and step up to do what's right for the country, not show how loyal they are to Trump so he doesn't turn on them next. We need a special prosecutor and the GOP needs to make sure it happens, for the good of the country (and by extension, world stability).

Despite the WH's attempt to once again rewrite the moment, the FBI is having none of it, as acting Director Andrew McCabe rejected the Trump administration's claim that Comey had lost the confidence of his bureau. When asked directly on the point he responded, "No, sir. That is not accurate." He followed that remark by telling the Senate Intelligence Committee that he holds the highest regard for his predecessor.

Said McCabe, “I can tell you also that Director Comey enjoyed broad support within the FBI and still does to this day. We are a large organization. We are 36,500 people across this country, across this globe. We have a diversity of opinions about many things. But I can confidently tell you that the majority, the vast majority, of FBI employees enjoyed a deep and positive connection to Director Comey.”

yes, because its completely impossible to praise someone with limited knowledge, then find out later things are different than what one thought.

And it's weird how that realization happens to coincide with being investigated by someone who isn't in his pocket. :)

I do agree with you though that Trump is accurately described as someone who generally appears to speak from limited knowledge. :thumb:

Spicer argued with WP reporter about whether he (Spicey) hid in WH shrubbery.

(Politico) Spicer missed the briefings Wednesday and Thursday while on Naval Reserve duty, but engaged in a heated argument with The Washington Post’s national editor after the newspaper reported he hid in bushes Tuesday night outside the White House after doing a TV hit to defend Trump’s firing of Comey.

Spicer said late Thursday that The Washington Post “falsely described the situation” and “grossly misstated the situation around our attempt to brief the press.”

A person familiar with the press secretary’s location late Tuesday night said Spicer was standing between or behind bushes, but not physically in a bush.

More than 12 hours after the story ran, Spicer eventually secured an editor’s note. “Spicer huddled with his staff among bushes near television sets on the White House grounds, not 'in the bushes,' as the story originally stated,” the newspaper wrote.

Could it get any more bizarre?

It's difficult to tell the difference between the White House and an episode of Parks and Recreation.

Just another week of political turmoil - how much longer will "The Donald's" supporters be content to watch reruns of "The Trump Saga," without seeing his campaign promises being translated into tangible improvements in their daily lives?

'Pay Trump bribes here' sign projected onto Trump's DC hotel

(CNN) Visitors to the Trump International Hotel in Washington were greeted with a provocative message Monday night: "Pay Trump bribes here."

Artist and filmmaker Robin Bell said he projected those words onto the hotel's facade from a van across the street, hoping to call attention to accusations that President Donald Trump is allowing foreign leaders to pay for access by staying at a Trump property just a few blocks from the White House.

"It's a pretty clear cut example of impropriety," Bell said in a phone interview. "This is not like politics as usual. The rules and the lines are being pushed so far and this seemed to be so clear to me."

Bell also projected the text of the emoluments clause, which prohibits US officials from accepting foreign gifts, onto the hotel's facade, alongside images of the Turkish and Russian flags.
