The Delay Doctrine

The most accurate delay doctrine regarding NT eschatology is that Matt 24 up to v29 was 1st century Judean, and expecting the end of the world 'right after' that. Expecting. This expectation, as you move through that generation from 30 to 70 AD, is widely stated in the NT letters. That generation's believers spread the Gospel widely.

When 2 Peter 3 is written, there is obviously skepticism about it. Anyone handling the NT has to come to a coherent understanding of the two passages. (Full preterism cannot be coherent because it denies an actual destruction of this world modeled like the Genesis cataclysm, but with so many technical terms for heat-caused melting-down, there is no place for referring simply to the realm of Judaism).

So there has been a delay of the world-wide things mentioned in Matthew 24.
