The virus is spreading rapidly in rural U.S. Pretty much red states where people believed Trump that we had "turned a corner." Well, we have, but not the way he was telling us.
We're back in the exponential phase of increasing infections. Doctors are getting better at treating it, but deaths are also beginning to rise.

It must be horrible to hate someone so much that one would do that. It's pitiable. Pray for him.

You're trying to reason with a leftist.
The Barbarian is taking advantage of the unconfirmable death of his "son-in-law's father" to bear false witness about the President. He's simply playing on emotion. He hasn't been here for a year and never discusses theology. He comes here to stir the pot before the election because it's fun for him and he has nothing else to do since he has retired.
"My youngest daughter's husband's father" . . . I'm sorry but that sounds like a line from Space Balls. So, supposedly, someone old in his rather extended family died. Ok, so everyone else in the world has to remain under a prison sentence to satisfy his ego?
Using personal stories which may or may not be made up to support a point is a common leftist tactic. There is no way to verify what actually happened in case The Barbarian mentioned. And considering, The Barbarian is not above lying, it could be completely made up.
So why use it? He's trying to play on sympathies because he knows he can't win the argument because the artificial inflation of the China virus deaths is absolutely true.
What a dipstick. There's no need for anyone to bear false witness about the president as he's on record for lying about the virus himself. Downplaying it to the public while admitting on record that he knew how serious it was and enjoying doing so as well. Over 200,000 deaths is an "artificial inflation" is it?
Yet another MAGA wingnut.
:dunce:
I've been hearing that, I have a sister who lives in a red state.
From sod's link:
"For much of the fall, small and mid-sized cities in the Upper Midwest and West added cases at the highest rates. Rural areas that had long had few cases have become sudden hotspots."
Do you wonder about someone who just joined in June knowing (or caring) that Barbarian "hasn't been here for a year and never discusses theology?"

I have two sisters and a brother in such a state. And my oldest daughter and her family live there. My daughter was infected, but didn't even have to be hospitalized. She was donating plasma after she recovered.
My sister told me yesterday her friend of many years had died from it and her friend's spouse was very sick and my sister was going back to self-quarantining for the near future, since where she is is pretty pro-MAGA, anti-mask.
I'm very glad your daughter is all right.

Yeah, sounds kinda familiar, doesn't it? I wondered about that, too.
Was it really a year?
I don't know, and I've known you a long time and noted other absences of yours, but I'd been gone for most of 2020 myself. :chuckle:
