I'm not one of his constituents but I could be. I haven't heard a practical proposal put forward for "red flag" laws. I have heard practical proposals for protecting schools and school children as diligently as we do federal courthouses and our elected representatives. And they all start and end with more good guys with guns in these ridiculous "gun-free" zones that bad actors find so appealing.

So yeah. Red Wave good.

Red flags dumb.

They're representatives. They represent their constituents, and they're saying what they're hearing their constituents say, through their own network of intelligence gathering, which is focused on which issues will sway their reelection chances, it's as simple as that.

No matter how many polls show 99% of Americans support this or that gun control measure, always listen to the actual constituents, they have a more severe interest in getting the right statistics and interpreting them correctly.

Yeah, no. All you have to do is look at the presidential election to know a politician never represents their full constituency.

With the nation almost evenly divided in support or in opposition to traditional Christian values almost no national politian can claim he us serving the will of the people. He may be serving half the people but cannot possibly be serving both halves at the same time.

That's a fallacy that what happens at the national level, especially with our electoral system for the presidency, is applicable to what happens in states and within federal districts within states, with their direct elections.

The makeup of the Senate alone proves this is true.

No senator or congressperson who wants to win their next election will make a law that will turn their chances of winning, according to their own calculus, with the input from their own intelligence gathering network, negative; not a single one, not unless he or she is just being arbitrarily stubborn. iow there's no good reason to deliberately "tank" like there is in pro sports.

@marke doesn't agree with that SCOTUS ruling, so he didn't contradict himself in what he said. He said "Consitutional" rights.
Facts are facts we have to live with.
It is called reality.
I don't agree with those judges that made it legal either, but I can't deny it happened.

America remains free as long as Constitutional freedoms and rights are preserved.
Wrong.

People are free, regardless of where they live or what their government is like.

The question is: "What would you do with that freedom?"

People are not free in communist and oppressed nations, which begs the question of why communist front organizations like BLM are supported by democrats seeking to change laws and customs in America.

Of course they are.

People are oppressed in the US and other democracies. They are still free.
Christians are free, unsaved sinners are not. American laws prevent tyrannical government officials from jailing and killing innocent people in China, N. Korea, and elsewhere, but not in America, at least not before the democrat party turned full-blown communists.

Everyone is in the same boat.

American laws prevent tyrannical government officials from jailing and killing innocent people

I think you're stuck on the whole democratic divide thing. It's a distraction.
