"The grace of God is like: here is your life. You might never have been, but you are because the party wouldn't be complete without you. Here is your world...

"The mother eagle teaches her little ones to fly by making their nest so uncomfortable that they are forced to leave it and commit themselves to the unknown world of air outside. And just so does our God to us. He stirs up our comfortable nests, and pushes us over the edge of them, and we are forced to use our wings to save ourselves from fatal falling. Read your trials in this light, and see if you cannot begin to get a glimpse of their meaning. Your wings are being developed." ~Hannah W. Smith

"As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us. We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection." ~TPT

"Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely. He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken. ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf

"Christianity is not a religion. Christianity is the proclamation of the end of religion, not of a new religion, or even of the best of all religions. If the cross is the sign of anything, it's the sign that God has gone out of the religion business and solved all of the world's problems without requiring a single human being to do a single religious thing. What the cross is actually a sign of is the fact that religion can't do a thing about the world's problems - that it never did work and it never will." -Robert Farrar Capon-

Christianity is a religion much the same as anything else. Nationalism, politics, science, fashion, sports, entertainment. If you do anything religiously or if you have a strict set of principles you adhere to you're religious. Everyone is religious. Like anything else, religion in it's various forms, has good and bad. The cross is a phallic symbol, first popularized by Tammuz, the Sumerian Dumuzi. Nimrod (Genesis 10:8-10; Ezekiel 8:14). It was introduced into the apostate church after the Emperor Constantine the Great, a sun worshiper, allegedly hallucinated it in battle. The apostate church was founded by him as his political tool. God was never in that business, but Robert Farrar Capon certainly was.

It's ridiculous to think religion can do much about the world's problems, other than perhaps to suggest it makes them far worse than they are. It's even more ridiculous to suggest that God would solve the problems of the world when he is nothing to do with it and forewarned that world of it's potential self destructive conclusion long ago. God isn't going to solve those problems - yet - and when he does that world will be a thing of the past.

You see then, that the most anyone can do is point people to Jesus as the sole source of Life. They may experience life through us, but we cannot give them life ourselves. To those bound up by organized religion, Jesus cries, "You search the Scriptures, because in them you think you have Life." You are content to read about Me, but you will not come to Me that you may have Life. Come to Me! Not, "memorize these three easy steps and attend the Church of your choice, "Come to Me! ~Chip Brogden

"In the secret of God's tabernacle no enemy can find us, and no troubles can reach us. The pride of man and the strife of tongues find no entrance into the pavilion of God. The secret of his presence is a more secure refuge than a thousand Gibraltar's. I do not mean that no trials come. They may come in abundance, but they cannot penetrate into the sanctuary of the soul, and we may dwell in perfect peace even in the midst of life fiercest storms." ~Hannah W. Smith

"You find no difficulty in trusting the Lord with the management of the universe and all the outward creation, and can your case be any more complex or difficult than these, that you need to be anxious or troubled about His management of it? ~Hannah W. Smith

"No soul can be really at rest until it has given up all dependence on everything else and has been forced to depend on the Lord alone. As long as our expectation is from other things, nothing but disappointment awaits us." ~Hannah W. Smith

"He comes to us in the brokenness of our health, in the shipwreck of our family lives, in the loss of all possible peace of mind, even in the very thick of our sins. He saves us in our disasters, not from them. He emphatically does not promise to meet only the odd winner of the self-improvement lottery. He meets us all in our endless and inescapable losing." ~Robert Farrar Capon

The consecrated host is kept safe in a safe-like cabinet called the tabernacle. We kneel toward the tabernacle when we enter and before we leave the church (where Mass is).

"God has defeated Satan through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through this overwhelming victory, God has also empowered you to overcome any temptation to sin and has provided sufficient resources for you to respond to any problem of life. By relying on God's power and being obedient to Him, you can be an overcomer in any situation." ~John Broger

NO HELP WANTED

"The Reformation was a time when men went blind, staggering drunk because they had discovered, in the dusty basement of late medievalism, a whole cellar full of fifteen-hundred-year-old, two-hundred proof Grace, bottle after bottle of pure distillate of Scripture, one sip of which would convince anyone that God saves us single-handedly. The word of the Gospel after all those centuries of trying to lift yourself into heaven by worrying about the perfection of your bootstraps suddenly turned out to be a flat announcement that the saved were home before they started. Grace has to be drunk straight: no water, no ice, and certainly no ginger ale; neither goodness, nor badness, not the flowers that bloom in the spring of super spirituality could be allowed to enter into the case." ~ Robert Farrar Capon

"No one can be saved - in virtue of what he can do. Everyone can be saved - in virtue of what God can do." ~Karl Barth

"The cross is the blazing fire at which the flame of our love is kindled, but we must get near enough for the sparks to fall on us." ~John R.W. Stott

"The confessing church needs to join Magdalene and Peter in witnessing that Christianity is not primarily a moral code but a grace-laden mystery; it is not essentially a philosophy of love but a love affair; it is not keeping rules with clenched fists, but receiving a gift with open hands." ~Brennan Manning

"I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; to have been thought about, born in God's thought, and then made by God, is the dearest, grandest and most precious thing in all thinking." ~George MacDonald
