Does one need to subscribe to a "theological system" aside from faith and being led by the Holy Spirit? Genuinely curious here.
There is quite a bit of scripture, so I think 'we' need it because it shows we are paying attention and serious about retaining the information.

I suppose the answer is '"what kind of grades were you shooting for in this school?"

But you already know the answer. "Do the ordinary with extraordinary love."

But I didn't ask a question. :)

(Just giving you a hard time. )

But thanks for the mention, my motto is something I need to remind myself of every day - that's why it's there. :plain:

It's been fascinating to watch this thread unfold; it's certainly helpful in some ways, and somewhat thought-provoking as to whether sorting and sifting each other is on some human level an instinct that's hard to resist.

Live your own convictions and calling, preach Christ always...

Isaiah 55:

11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

12For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

13Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

We all struggle with the same. I find myself beginning again with each new sunrise. We never stop growing and learning...that's the beauty of overcoming all of the obstacles in our path. It leads us closer to God and His truth.

It seems that most people have this need to either embrace something or attack it with a vengeance.

What I've seen that's most difficult for people is when they find themselves in a quandary as to what group, denomination or genre others fall into. They can neither embrace or attack.

Instead of discerning the nature of that person by what they say and do, rather have this need to associate themselves by what organization or assembly they belong to.

It's my opinion that within the body of Christ's believers and followers as a whole, truth is scattered amongst them all though not one having it all in one place.

IMO, it was Gods plan to hide His truths within this body and throughout that only those who seek Him with a sincere burning desire to know His truth will find it being led by the Holy Spirit.

That where one Christian resides in their journey, may not be where another should reside. There is a reason for the many parts that make up the body as a whole, each having a specific function and purpose to fulfill Gods plan design. Therefore we judge not in that context, we do discern the spirit of individuals though in order to sort them out and discern the appropriate witness needed...if any at all.

Matthew 7:1-5

King James Version (KJV)

7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Praise God!

"Hell" no. Do you even know what "MAD" is? It those that take the Bible more literally, nothing more. So when Paul says the Lord Jesus Christ was minister to the circumcision, and the Lord says to do and say as the pharisee says, I won't do it. It isn't written to me. I was brought near by the blood of Christ, not by first blessing Israel in accordance with the law.

Well thanks for that lil FYI about MAD, I was wondering what that meant, but too afraid to ask.
