That's the Scriptural position, Letsargue. Even the Elect are not saved until the moment of their conversion.
We aren't saved when God elected us. We aren't saved when the Holy Spirit regenerated us. The Elect (or regenerate Elect) who aren't yet converted to Christ are on the Express Bus to Hell just the same as the reprobate !
Hence, Acts 16:31 says: "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" (NIV).
Until we are converted to Christ (gifted with belief), we are unsaved.
It's got to be genuine belief. But even the regenerate Elect aren't saved until they convert.
The Scriptures nowhere say: Be elect and saved. Or, be regenerate and saved. It's only "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" !
You won’t find very much of that in the Scriptures, - in the Letter of the Word, or in the Spirit of the Word. -- You have “safe” and “saved” mixed up in some false doctrine. ------ Matthew 24:22 KJV – And except those days should be shortened, there should NO FLESH BE “SAVED”: but for the ELECT'S SAKE THOSE DAYS SHALL BE shortened”. ----- Salvation only comes when the Lord saves us from the damnation of Hell. - Until then, one is "SAFE" by the Promise of Salvation. – However, having the Promise; one can speak as though you have already received it. – They were Christians / Christ Like, before and after the reality of salvation was realized, in AD 70. ------ Luke 21:28 KJV ----- Read verses 24-28 KJV –----- Now, there is no more Promise, -- only the receiving of the blessing, or the Judgment of Hell. --- Choose one NOW!
