The tribes didn't speak the same language so there was diverse words used to describe the Creator, as well as different beliefs ceremonies and rituals. Knowing the Jewish Son of God didn't do them much good once they were told about it, many were forced to except the invaders religious traditions, which broke their free spirit and will.
The after effects speak for themselves.
No argument here. I despise what they did to them and continue to do to them. I was shocked to find they are treated like second class citizens by whites STILL. If you've ever seen the movie Geronimo, the part where they shoot the medicine man in the river, and then Geronimo takes some braves and goes "rogue", they were practicing the Ghost Dance religion there.
The US thought because this was spreading to the tribes (all but 4 of the main ones, as I recall, embraced it) as some sort of planned coalition being built up them between them all, for attack later. Apparently too stupid to ask what it was, they just assumed, and lot of innocent people died over it as a result.
Geronimo, knew the Spirit and heard the Spirit, and it's how he managed to evade capture by 5000 US troops and the Mexican army he was used to fighting with since they killed his family, with a handful of braves, for over a year and a half.
If you can hear the voice of wisdom from above, all you have to do is read the book of quotes by the great chiefs, and "she" speaks all through it. Peace
