He had 5 sisters at the time, ranging in ages from 5-12. He was 14 at the time. We know he molested (on both breasts and vagina) the 5 year old as he read her a story and she was sitting on his lap, based on leaked reports.

That is a pretty large age gap, a kindergartner and a high school freshman.

Even if you don't want to define this as pedophila, it is a clear case of sexual abuse of a very young child.

We also know he molested some while they slept, a clear case of sexual violation of a child.

I stated he was a repeat sexual abuser of children, a clear threat/danger to children from which his parents didn't take seriously enough after his first confession to them came to light, allowing him to remain around children and offend again.

So? Does any of this reduce the harm done to his victims? Does any of this support the notion that it needn't be taken very seriously when the first allegations arose? Does any of this support the notion that the children around him did not need protection from him after the allegations arose, which allowed him to repeat his sexual abuse several more times and harm additional lives?

Regardless, I assume we agree that the church was extremely wrong-headed to place the woman in the OP under "discipline", tried to prevent her from getting a divorce, and tried to claim she wasn't allowed to quit her membership?

So a 14 year old can be a sex abuser? Doesn't abuse have to have premeditated motive? Did he know he was abusing? Could it be that his hormones were coming into full bloom and this was just a natural reaction of which no adult had ever told him was a wrong thing to do?
