Maunday Thursday

Does anyone who is familiar with Maundy Thursday, the day during Holy Week which commemorates the washing of the feet and last supper of the Messiah with the apostles know what part of Thursday that this took place - during the night time at the beginning of Thursday, or during the daytime toward the end of Thursday?

So, that means that the betrayal took place sometime during the first 12 hours of Thursday followed by the 12 hours of daytime of Thursday?

The next day, after the night He was betrayed, He was put to death, on Friday. The night He was betrayed was also when Peter denied Him three times.

Christ was crucified on Thursday, was in the tomb Friday and Saturday (both of those days were Sabbaths that year), and rose on the third day, Sunday.

There were two Sabbaths but the first one was the night in which He was betrayed, Thursday evening, the first day of Passover, the night the seder was consumed, the night He instituted the Eucharist, the night of the Last Supper. The second Sabbath was just the regular Sabbath, the seventh day, Saturday.

I was counting back from 9am when He was crucified.

So, you're saying that no part of Thursday was involved?

The Eucharist and Last Supper, the consumption of the Passover Lamb, was on Thursday.

The Eucharist and Last Supper, the consumption of the Passover Lamb, was on Thursday.
And the OP is asking if it was during the beginning of Thursday or during the afternoon of Thursday.

OOPS, sorry, looking back at your post I see you said that it was during the beginning of Thursday.

In your post #4 you said "The next day, after the night He was betrayed, He was put to death, on Friday.
So, after the Thursday night that He was betrayed, and after Thursday daytime, and after Friday night time He was crucified at 9am?

Step out of the Catholic tradition for a moment, Idolater.

A Friday crucifixion doesn't work, because it doesn't align with the narrative and other corroborating details.

The corrected timeline is at the end of this:

Don't you agree that the seder meal was consumed the first evening of Passover, which was treated like a Sabbath?

@rstrats here is the corrected timeline from the above ChatGPT link:

Revised Timeline with a Thursday Crucifixion

Wednesday Night (Beginning of Thursday by Jewish Time)
- The Last Supper (Passover meal) is eaten after sunset (Luke 22:14-20, Matthew 26:26-29).
- Jesus predicts Peter’s denial (Matthew 26:31-35, Luke 22:31-34).
- Jesus and the disciples go to Gethsemane; He prays while they struggle to stay awake (Matthew 26:36-46, Luke 22:39-46).
- Sometime after midnight, Jesus is arrested (Matthew 26:47-56, Luke 22:47-53).

Early Thursday Morning (Between Midnight and Dawn)
- Jesus is taken to Annas and Caiaphas; an illegal trial begins (John 18:12-24, Matthew 26:57-68).
- Peter follows at a distance and enters the courtyard of the high priest (Matthew 26:58, Luke 22:54).
- Peter denies Jesus three times before 3 AM (during the "cockcrow" Roman guard shift change):
- First denial to a servant girl (Luke 22:56-57).
- Second denial to another person (Luke 22:58).
- Third denial about an hour later to a group who recognize his Galilean accent (Luke 22:59-60).
- At this moment, the rooster crows (Roman shift change, around 3 AM), and Jesus looks at Peter (Luke 22:61).
- Peter weeps bitterly and flees (Matthew 26:75, Luke 22:62).

Thursday at Dawn (Jewish Sunrise)
- The Sanhedrin meets officially and condemns Jesus (Luke 22:66-71).
- Jesus is taken to Pilate early in the morning (Matthew 27:1-2, Mark 15:1, Luke 23:1, John 18:28).
- Pilate sends Jesus to Herod, who mocks Him and sends Him back (Luke 23:6-12).
- Pilate reluctantly condemns Jesus after the people demand His crucifixion (Matthew 27:15-26, John 19:1-16).
- Jesus is scourged, mocked, and led to Golgotha around 9 AM (Mark 15:25).
- Jesus is crucified around 9 AM and dies at 3 PM (Matthew 27:45-50, Mark 15:33-37, Luke 23:44-46).

I have no idea what you're talking about.

This is why I told you to step out of the Catholic tradition for a moment.

The Eucharist and Last Supper, the consumption of the Passover Lamb, was on Thursday.
That doesn't seem to work, because the Jews thought the passover hadn't happened yet:
John 18:28 KJV — Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
No need, if the passover was the previous night.

Wednesday Night (Beginning of Thursday by Jewish Time)

Why are you bringing a midnight-to-midnight calendar day into the conversation when we are talking about a time line from 2000 years ago?

BTW, you say that the Messiah was crucified on Thursday. But Maundy Thursday is defined as the day before a Friday crucifixion.
