I just learned that my cousin, who works at Dierberg's Grocery Store will get the Turkey dinner meals that they sell for 75% off the day after for employees only, about 3 bucks apiece ! So, we'll have steak Thursday and turkey dinner on black Friday, awesome !!

We decided on steaks, baked potato, salad, french bread for Thanksgiving this year. Turkey or ham at Christmas.

This is a break from tradition as we always have Turkey and the fixin's like most folks. It won't be the same food but it's just as good. No leftovers though.
Still sounds wonderful, though!

did some survey work on some property with native pecan trees. The owner helped load 8 plastic store bags. That ort to be enough for pies, cookies, brownies, and fruit salad. hint

Are you a Cowboy's fan?

The reason I ask, is I think it would be weird to go to the Cowboy's game on Thanksgiving Day.

Kickoff Central Time is 3:30pm. It would mean missing Thanksgiving Day Dinner if you went to the game.

Or, is tailgating at AT&T Stadium better than having Thanksgiving Day Dinner at home?

I'm not a hardcore fan of any team. with the exception of UT Longhorns only because it is my alma mater. I do enjoy watching good plays. not to concerned with which team makes them. Just want to see a good game. I'll be watching from a recliner. Preferably with a cold on in one hand and a piece of pecan pie in ther other.

And German chocolate cake.

Think we have so many that we can feed the squirrels and the boys can have some target practice with their pellet rifles.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone,

We will be having a large family gathering on a farm in SW Oklahoma. We'll have little ones and children of all ages everywhere. I'm really looking forward to it. God has been so good to us, so we have much to give thanks for.

So that's where all the luck went. PJ has two great dinners planned (and what I assume by his avatar) is a lovely wife to share them with. Man, karma loves you.

(sorry i can't resist mocking Bieber but I do mean to say that you definitely have a great Thanksgiving weekend planned)

One of the snacks we always have in the days before and during Thanksgiving are cheese sausage balls.
I make them with Bisquick.

I could make a meal just on those!

My granddaughter, my son's daughter is pregnant. I am going to Atlanta the Thanksgiving, and will be in Louisiana for Christmas where my two great grandchildren live. They are my older daughter's, daughter's babies.

Today, I was planning on leaving, then my son said he would drive here Tuesday and take me back home next weekend. My younger son and his wife are coming from North Carolina, Thursday morning.

That sounds good.

I wanted to do prime rib and leg of lamb, but unfortunately, I got out voted. Again.

It should be fun. I have to admit not liking to drive to Atlanta. They make a fine turkey, with all the usual timings. That is a real treat, since cooking a turkey is too taxing for me.

Oh, to bad! I like leg of lamb very much and usually have it over Christmas. What I really like is having Christmas goose on Christmas day, and leg of lamb with it.

So many in the family want turkey so, we usually have that with goose for a few of us older folks. I buy the lamb so we shall have it before and have some to take home.

One of the most memorable Thanksgiving celebrations. Loads of food and drink. The whole family gathered under one roof through the weekend. Can't think of nuttin that could have made it any better.
