Awesome! 'White lives matter' will be just as obnoxious and whiny as 'black lives matter'.

The statement is benign but the motivation for posting such a thing in this environment is most likely not. I can understand having a negative reaction. Just like 'all lives matter' is a benign statement by itself but in reaction to BLM it can be perceived as more negative.Even if there were overt racist motivations behind the fliers, that's not a reason to take them down or otherwise react with outrage and alarm. In and of itself, "It's OK to be white" is perfectly benign.
And frankly, the reaction to the fliers just shows how stupid the left wing is.
Those fliers only shift people to the alt-right if the public and institutional reaction to those fliers is negative.
Taking down the fliers and reacting with shock, outrage and alarm against the fliers PROVES THE POINT of the alt right: It's NOT OK to be white.
You know how to combat the "racism" behind those fliers?
Ignore them completely. Allow them to stay up.
Prove the alt-right wrong by publicly showing that it IS OK to be white.
Concordia President William Craft said he wanted to invite the campus community to discuss the posters at a public forum the school will organize. He also pointed out that the posters were distinguished, among other things, for a lack of information, even the name of the group behind them. On Wednesday, Craft posted a longer statement on the school’s Facebook page. “There is and must be a place here for people of different ethnicities and skin colors, of different faith traditions or no faith traditions, of different nations, of different gender identities, of different political convictions,” he wrote. “In that sense, it is indeed OK to be white — and to be black, to be brown, to be Christian, to be Muslim, to be straight, to be gay, to be conservative, to be liberal, and so on. We are stronger for this diversity of identities.” |
