Is marital rape scripturally defensible?

You also said that a Christian husband can't rape his wife according to the scriptures. So what do you call that if not scriptural defense for marital rape?

That's exactly his scriptural defense for marital rape. He just doesn't call it rape, he calls it 'being one body.' What a scam...

You just don't understand the meaning of it. If you really understood, you'd realize how dumb it is to mark your own husband as a 'rapist'. Modern women are just in rebellion against men, and have to depend on other men to defend them. It's the spirit of Eve causing enmity among men.

well, i tried to explain it to you

check the thread title

there's no scriptural defense for the concept of marital rape
You also said that a Christian husband can't rape his wife according to the scriptures. That forcing her against her will isn't rape according to scripture. So what do you call that if not claiming scriptural defense for marital rape?

So, when you were supposedly married, did you force yourself onto your wife when she didn't want to have sex at any point/(s)?

If you did then don't be surprised that she wanted to get the hell away from you and involved lawyers to see that it came about.

Right he doesn't believe that there is any such thing as marital rape in a Christian marriage. This is the reason why so many Christian women in churches feel like they can't get help when they are being battered and brutally raped by their Christian husbands, not even help from their ministers because of this mindset.
Something is seriously wrong with that and it needs to change.

Makes me wonder what his wife/ex has been through.

A husband may be refused sex for many valid reasons.

Is the man going to respect her when she says no, or does he treat her like an animal at market? Sure, she said she was sick, but what if he doesn't believe her. So what's he gonna do, play doctor, second her opinion, or not even care?

Is she gonna get sicker, lose a baby, get an STD from a man who won't listen to no and doesn't believe she's allowed to make her own medical judgments, leave, or refuse sex on suspicion of adultery?

And on the emotional side - if a woman feels fear and anticipates pain instead of love - she's going to dread every encounter and they will have NO love life ever again.

There are so many bad things that can happen, even within a marriage, when sex is forced. There are lots of words that are real but not in the Bible. Are we going to argue bacteria aren't real because it's not spelled out in the Bible?

Yes. And it needs to start by women believing that it's illegal and prosecutable. Eventually the bratty beta males will be forced to see the light.

I read an article recently that mentioned a survey of nearly 6,000 pastors who were asked how they would counsel women who came to them for help with domestic violence.
26% said to continue to submit to her husband no matter what
25% said the abuse was their fault for failing to submit in the first place
50% said women should be willing to tolerate some level of violence because it is better than divorce

Advice like that can put women in grave danger and in some cases can be a death warrant.

Did they do a reverse study to see how they counseled husbands who were hitters/rapists? What kind of church discipline do they receive?

Utterly horrifying! The man who abuses his wife will also abuse his children.

Forget the Bible.
FEMALE EMPOWERMENT, right?

That's all most women are good for nowadays- corrupting their sacred belief with rebellion.

Be Christian- except for the most fundamentally important part.

You interpret that as female empowerment? It looks more like men empowerment to me.
You're just upset because it proved your twisted notion wrong about everything being in women's favor, privilege, rights etc ad nauseam :peach:

you are not going to like this
and
that is too bad

In short, while many matrons, whose husbands were more gentle, carried the marks of blows on their dishonoured faces, and would in private conversation blame the lives of their husbands, she would blame their tongues, monishing them gravely, as if in jest: That from the hour they heard what are called the matrimonial tablets read to them, they should think of them as instruments whereby they were made servants; so, being always mindful of their condition, they ought not to set themselves in opposition to their lords. And when they, knowing what a furious husband she endured, marvelled that it had never been reported, nor appeared by any indication, that Patricius had beaten his wife, or that there had been any domestic strife between them, even for a day, and asked her in confidence the reason of this, she taught them her rule, which I have mentioned above.

With secular society and law, it is all in the women's favor.

The Bible is patriarchal and anti-feminist, but those such as yourself simply want the best of both worlds. You haven't 'proved' anything wrong, because you obviously don't even know what I've been talking about
