Is the act of Faith a Work ? Yes it is, and here's some reasons why
Rom 4:1-5 KJV What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? (2) For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. (3) For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. (4) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. (5) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Dont change anything, Faith is a work, I am showing you why !

Clanging symbol, be quiet.

Faith is not a work.

Letting go of the rope to heaven and letting Christ carry you is not the same as climbing that same rope.

Scripture shows you why believing is a work. Its a command for a person to do !
This scripture is CLEAR and UNABIGUOUS...
Rom 4:4-5 KJV Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. (5) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Believing (i.e. faith) is CONTRASTED with works.

Yes it is,

No, it's not a work.

its an act of obedience performed by man!

Faith is a response to God's calling. It's not a work. Again, letting go of the rope (faith) and trusting Christ to carry you (belief) is NOT the same as climbing the rope oneself (works).

Had enough yet?

Following a command is a work!

Keeping a command in the hopes of obtaining a reward is a work.

Following a command because one knows that one CANNOT obtain the reward through obedience to a command is not a work.

Accepting God's gift (because IT IS A GIFT, offered to all mankind) of salvation is not meritorious in and of itself.

One accepts the gift by believing. Belief has no merit. It's a recognition that one CANNOT merit one's own salvation, thus making it not a work, but instead an act of faith.

Do you deny to believe on Christ is commanded ?

No, because it's not a command.

God cannot justly save those who do not have faith in Him. Simple as that.
