I'm trying to figure out why they don't block off one lane for ingoing traffic then let the outbound traffic use the rest of that side as well. They do it here everytime they make road repairs. And they could use cones and stuff, they wouldn't need the concrete barriers for a few days.

Not everywhere. They're doing better than New Orleans did by far, but they can do a bit better on some fronts.

This morning a bus evacuating nursing home residents exploded, killing 24 elderly folks. The grandmother of a friend of my sister's was one of the victims.

I saw that, that was really awful.
